Customer Reviews of Pulp Fiction (Two-Disc Collector's Edition)
The greatest impact on the movie industry This is by far my favorite movie of all time. The impact it had on the movie industry is immeasurable. So much has changed since this film came out. <
>Before it's release, movies always told the story in a very basic format--very simplistic, events all chronologically in order, plus never deviating from the subject with random dialogue. Tarrantino established all this in Reservoir Dogs, but the ideas really exploded after the release of Pulp Fiction. <
>Another huge influence this film produced was the reemergence of John Travolta as a mega star. There was basically a decade gap between his casting in prominent roles. Quentin reopened the door for him. <
>Another important thing I noticed is Tarantino's brilliant use of the movie's soundtrack. He uses lots of classic songs that really capture particular scenes. Everyone remembers the Reservoir Dogs' ear scene with "Stuck in the Middle With You" playing. Pulp Fiction has many great music/movie scene tie-ins, like "Jungle Boogie", "Son of a Preacher Man", and "Girl, You'll be a Woman Soon". Although Quentin didn't create this idea, he definitely popularized it. <
>There were some other changes in America that happened after Pulp Fiction. You might not have noticed them, but I think there is a direct correlation. During one scene, Vincent Vega(Travolta) orders a Vanilla Coke at a diner. Shortly after the movie, the Coca-Cola company presented the re-release of this vintage soft drink. <
>Another thing that I found too coincidental--beer now served in some American movie theaters. Vincent Vega mentions that beer is available in European theaters. That idea caught on back in the states. <
>So, as you can see, the impact of this film was tremendous. Besides that, Pulp Fiction is extremely entertaining on so many levels. It's greatness can never be duplicated. <

One of the great films ever made
This movie , in my opinion , may be the best all around film ever . It changed so much about the way movies are made . Also , so many aspects of it are perfect from the script , to the casting . The camera work and production are equally as brilliant . Tarantino did a great job at bringing the gritty world of drug dealers and other social scum into middle America's living room . Career making performances by Uma Thurman and Ving Rhames .
Tarentino's Best
Dripping with attitude, this film is a great romp with a star-studded cast. I highly recommend this film for its extremely witty script, and for how the actors become their charcters, as opposed to simply playing themselves (Except for maybe Bruce Willis). Plus, as with most Tarentino flicks, the soundtrack is perfectly suited for the script and action. Check it out.
