Customer Reviews of Prima Pappa Rocking High Chair - Capuccino
Better than other reviews suggest We have a fairly large kitchen, and twin sons. The Prima Pappa has been a fine chair as of now, and I really plan on using them long term. <
> <
>We originally bought them because of all the extras, and all of the wonderful features. Some aren't too useful, but I find that the chair deserves more than a 1 star rating. <
> <
>FEATURES <
>* A one-handed recline... trust me, the 4 recline positions are truly one-handed <
>* You can also remove the main tray with one hand, and this is easy to do, no need to master a special technique <
>* A snap on dishwasher tray. Unlike ALL the other chairs I have seen, this snap on tray covers the ENTIRE tray, so you truly are only cleaning one tray <
>* 7 different height positions, from down to the floor, to right above our table top <
>* A leatherette cover. It is much different than what you will see out there, but it does have its pros and cons <
>* 4 wheels. They lock/unlock easily, and can even be achieved barefoot! They roll well on hard floors, as well as thin carpet <
>* A rocking feature, pretty simple to do <
>* A non-removable five-point harness for safety. Its easy to use it as a three-point as well, unlike certain chairs, like the aquarium. <
>* A permanently attached "t-bar" (I'm not sure what its called, but its that bar between the legs). <
>* A one-handed, compact fold. When the Pappa is folded, its also free-standing! <
> <
>Just some extra info/opinions <
>* We received the two chairs as a baby shower gift, so we have used them since the boys were newborns. There's really no need in this, making the recline, and some adjustment features pretty useless. But the floor feature was GREAT while bottle feeding the boys on the couch, and the adjustments are rarely used now that they are 7 months old and sitting up unassisted. <
>* The snap on dishwasher tray is amazing. The boys haven't been able to get them off (the chair only comes with one). They are easy for me and my husband to get off though, and they fit well in a fully loaded dishwasher, or a double sink <
>* The main tray is quite large and spacious. There's enough room for an adult sized plate, and even a few toys. Its also great that its large so that baby food can be at your arms reach, but not the babies. It also adjusts so that even the smallest kids can have the tray virtually up-close <
>* The harnesses are a pain to clean. We aren't really "neat-freaks", so it doesn't truly bother us that they have collected gunk, and have stained. We are able to really "scrub" the crud off it though. We also found the shoulder straps to be useless (as of now) and have attached Velcro to the front of them, and to the back of the chair, so we can pull them out of the way. <
>* Our boys are very tiny (10th percentile!) so they are pretty dwarfed by the chairs. We did manage to a pillow (the ones for your neck) underneath the seat cushion, and that props them up well enough. <

>The big controversy <
>* THE LEATHER! We find that the leather is a sufficient, and gorgeous part to the chair. We treat it well, and sometimes use leather enhancer's to keep it in tact. About wiping it up, its fairly simple. We are able to take a damp rag to it after each meal, and it wipes up very well. Sometimes gunk collects in the grooves (like on a leather couch), but than we just wash it, and dry it in the machine... they come out well, but just use the delicate cycle! We are able to keep it nice, and the boys seem to really love it! The only problem is when they are only in a diaper, they tend to "stick" to the chairs, but that's the same with vinyl. <
>* As of cleaning the rest of the chair, I too find it very simple. We do remove the cover once and a while, and shake it off and use a hose attachment to vacuum out the crumbs. But there aren't too many crevices and nooks to be worried about, and if food does get lodged in odd places, its soon found by us. <
>* We only "deep clean" the chairs about every other week. We remove the cover and get all the gunk out. The covers are washed in the machine, and the chairs are even hosed off every few months. <
> <
>The occasional care is fine, and we dont mind the deep-cleaning necessary in all highchairs other than wooden ones. Its comfortable for your baby, easy to clean (in our opinions), sturdy, safe, stylish, and DEFIANTLY a heirloom! I recommend testing it out in the store, and knowing your highchair priorities before purchasing one, but for us, it earns four stars!
Come on!!
I was browsing on this site and I came across this highchair. Without seeing the price, I thought it looked kind of cool, but then I saw the reviews and had decided I probably didn't want it. It went with my decor, but I knew my baby would take over everything anyway. I ended up buying the fisher-price aquarium high chair, which was HALF the cost of this. So, maybe it's great but from what I hear, it's not worth it.
Get vinyl cover
Great high chair, but skip the leatherette. I replaced the cover with the vinyl one and it's much easier to clean. My son spits up A LOT and I couldn't get the smell out of the leatherette, not a problem with the vinyl. Other than that, it's great and very safe.
