Customer Reviews of Prima Pappa High Chair - Neptune Blue
Minor inconveniences, not worth the extra $$$ I was told to buy a chair with a vinyl seat and this was the only one in the store. I do appreciate 1) being able to wipe down the seat, 2) the wheels that lock and made the high chair easy to move around, 3) the fact that it is lightweight; 4) it was fairly easy to assemble, 5) It's smallish for my small kitchen space, 6) it can fold down (although it's not that much smaller when folded). It also seems safe for my baby--she's not likely to fall out of it or to be able to detach the tray due to safety features like a recessed tray latch and a post at the front of the seat. Inconviences include: 1) The straps get very dirty and are hard to clean; 2) The harness buckle can pinch fingers (I got blood blisters the first time we used it and have been very careful since); 3) the double tray isn't useful--doesn't fit in my dishwasher; 4) the reclining options keep the baby so far from the tray that the food ends up all over the baby and the chair unless she is fully upright; 5) the sides of the seat also get covered in food; 6) the tray is too high for my baby (although this was admittedly a problem with ALL the high chairs in the store); 7) the harness is too big and does not adjust to fit my smaller baby (4 months and 12 pounds). My sister, the mother of an 11-month old, found a [$$$] Graco high chair with a vinyl seat...wish I had shopped where she did and saved myself [$$$].
lots of crevices for food to get stuck and too hard to clean
I have 16 mo triplets and three of these high chairs, so believe me, I know what I'm reviewing! These chairs have lots of crevices for food to hide in and most cracks are way to small for adult hands to retrieve the food bits. The vinyl padding also cracks around the strap openings. I geniunely dislike these chairs and am buying three slipcovers to cover all the nooks and crannies where food hides. YUCK!
Just threw mine out
I just threw this high chair out. After one little girl, I can't imagine using this again for my next child. This highchair has a million places for food to get stuck in and I ended up cleaning it with toothpicks and a toothbrush constantly. The plastic padding faded and then cracked at the seam making yet another place for food to hide. After trying to clean it up again for my second child, we decided to throw it out in favor of a wooden Eddie Bauer model with a washable cover.
It also takes up a lot of room in the kitchen and the straps are difficult to remove for cleaning (you need to use a screwdriver).
