Customer Reviews of Powerpuff Girls - Twas the Fight Before Christmas
I loved it!!!!!!!! This was great. I don't see as many holiday episodes of the Powerpuff Girls as I do with other cartoons (IE Rugrats, SpongeBob SquarePants, ETC). In fact, this is the only holiday episode of PPG that I can recall. The plot was excellent. Buy this now if you're a PPG fan!!!!
The perfect gift for your PPG this Christmas!
I just saw this new Powerpuff Girls addition to our Christmas culture and it is just super! I highly recommend it to your own little PPG. The girls are off on a new adventure to save the children in Townsville from having one terrble Christmas all thanks to their rival and wanna be PPG Princess Morbucks. The cast is just great with lots of new banter between the PPG and the entire town has never looked so pretty as in the snow of winter. All of the main characters are back with lots of surprises and a special treat for anyone who loves Bubbles. A real treat and should definately be included as a stocking stuffer with the PPG movie of last year. I highly recommend this as a collector and as a fan. Bravo!! The day has been saved!! and so has Christmas!!!
story is Ok, extras not much to speak of
I find Princess to be one of the more annoying PPG characters but this story arc is consistent with her obsession with becoming a Powerpuff Girl. The story starts off in a rhyming narrative style similar to "Dream Scheme". There are some great touches in the writing and acting for Professor Utonium and particularly Bubbles, who seems to be picking up Valley Girl talk. The plot is a little weak at the point where Santa isn't attentive enough to figure out what his naughty and nice list are like. On the other hand send-ups and references to popular culture still abound, like a break-in sequence with Princess that references Sam Raimi's Spiderman and Buttercup's wish list making an obvious reference to the BB gun wish in a Christmas story. For those into him, Mojo Jojo makes a very short cameo.
The ensemble of voice actors put in solid performances (particularly Tara Strong as Bubbles) but this story, while it has nice touches, is just average. The extras aren't much to speak of, especially compared to the bonus episodes and extra material in The Mane Event.
