What's more, the threaded collar system is quick and easy to use. Attractive and durable 2.5-pound and 5-pound polished chrome cast iron plates let you increase dumbbell weight in 5-pound increments. While the dumbbells ship with 36 pounds of total weight, the 14-inch handles accommodate all 1-inch standard plates, so you can add additional weight as your fitness level increases (maximum plate capacity is 40 pounds). I just got these- I must comment on them.

>2) the threaded design is excellent- the weights won't slip off (or even budge) as compared with those clunky weight sets that have those butterfly clip things.
