Customer Reviews of Pokemon the First Movie - Mewtwo vs. Mew
I worship Pokemon, but....this kinda stunk! This movie was a good first try, I guess, but seeing it once is deinitely enough. I expected I'd love it like the TV show, but no such luck. (It's the second movie that really rules.) Pikachu's Vacation is pretty lame, even though it has good lessons about teamwork and friendship...and the movie has an interesting plot, but it gets boring. Ash is invited to New Island, where Mewtwo, a genetically engineered and super-powerful Pokemon, is looking to make clones of everyone's Pokemon and take over the world or something like that. So they get into this whole big battle scene with the clones and real Pokemon fighting each other, which is really long and hard to sit through. But the worst part of this movie is how little Team Rocket is in it! They're the real stars of Pokemon, and when all they do is walk through a sewer and discover Mewtwo's lab and say a few lines and basically just ooh and aah at everything, a lot is taken away from the overall movie. It would have been a lot better if Jessie, James, and Meowth were in it more, and if the stupid battling wasn't so darn long. In the second movie, the plot is MUCH more exciting and Team Rocket has a big, important part! As for me, I'm still hoping they'll come out with a movie that revolves all around them (who wants Ash all the time? He's not so great! It's always Ash, Ash, Ash! Enough of him! What makes people think he's in love with Misty? That's crazy! There's no romance between them whatsoever! Misty just follows him 'cuz she still wants that bike! I can tell! "Misty's Song" is a joke! It's Jessie and James who are in love...hasn't anyone seen "Holy Matrimony"? Geeez!) Well anyway, the movie wasn't half as good as I'd expected, so if I were you I'd rent it before you buy it.
PKMN One
This movie's plot was deep, and Mewtwo interested me some with...well, basically everything out him. He certainly has a way of getting what he wants, that's for sure! But, yes, wasn't as good as the third, in my view, but pretty close. The plot is the ever common 'let's go save the world' gig.
I'm going out to save the world, mom!
Okay, be back by dinner, honey!
Heh...just had to add that...
A mini master piece
When this movie came out on Dvd and Video I brought it the first day it came out. It's the best movie thats out there. A mini Masterpiece in my view. I also like it cause my favorite pokemon Mew is in it. And it's the only way to see Mew in Anime. People that don't know nothing about pokemon may be lost. So you should watch the first episode of pokemon to understand it better. It's a must see for pokemon fans.
