In the Sinnoh region, there are two Pokemon that symbolize the region. They appear in the Sinnoh reigon's myths and old folklore. One is called Dialga, and is said to have the power to control time. The other is called Palkia, who is said to have the ability to distort space. The sinister organization called Team Galaxy is trying to rule the region by utilizing these two Pokemon's power. During your adventure to complete your Pokedex and become the Champion, these two Pokemon, and Team Galaxy, will intertwine into the story and lead you on a fantastic journey across the Sinnoh region.
When you set off on your travels, you'll be able to play as either a boy or girl Trainer. You will also utilize the DS's dual slots to transfer Pokemon from the GBA Pokemon games and be able to link up with Pokemon Ranger to access more special content. Pokemon fans have caught glimpses of Mime Jr., Lucario, Munchlax and Weavile in Pokemon movies, and these Pokemon will be debuting in this adventure.

Customer Reviews of Pokemon Pearl
It is okay... Its a great game really, but inorder to acully win, you must buy an Action Replay to catch the legendaries like Shaymin, Darakri, or Arcues. I did like it, but having to buy a thirty dollar prduct for a game with not even a majority of the pokemon in it was not to my likeing.
A teen's review: for shame pokemon, surely we can do better...
I've played Pokemon since the games first appeared in America starting out with the old school, but still awesome, red version. And since then I have played most games, or at least one version of that generation of Pokemon. I've loved every single one, and have never gotten bored with them.
<
>And naive as I was I thought, perhaps, this game would be just as enjoyable as the others. I was mistaken.
<
>Though it did bring back memories of the older games, it lacked in many areas. I was most vexed when it came to the Pokemon themselves. They were either horribly grotesque, new models of the older species or one's that appeared as though a three year old had conceived them. There were a few cute or interesting one's spread through out, but they were very few in number.
<
>But there's more. It almost seemed like the game was more focused on all the new things you can do and the spiffy new gadgets. Trading with people across the world, Pokemon contests (which I will note has been altered since the last game, and now features dancing as part of the rotuine. Why yes, yes I did say dancing as absurd as it sounds.), you can now go underground where you can not only build a secret base, but also dig for evolutions stones, jewels and fossils (it's rather annoying if you ask me, having to find the evolution stones. There's no other way to do it unless you've beat the game and can get them from your other game boy advanced games.)

>I'm sorry, but what happened to the old game where all you worried about was raising you Pokemon and beating both the gym leaders and elite four?
<
>However, I will admit that the game did have some pluses. The gyms were more than just running in a beating the gym leader and some of his lackeys. They were puzzles that in some cases you had to think about. I've seen some reviewers stating that they disliked the new feature. However I did not. Also, I like the fact that you're not limited to which Pokemon you can get because you chose one game over another. Being able to trade worldwide is quite handy. As is being able to battle people around the globe once you defeat the elite four.
<
>And so I give this game a solid three. It was o.k. But seriously, the creators of Pokemon could have done so much better.
Pokemon Pearl........
Other than playing a few Pokemon games years agos, I've never really been into Pokemon. Not because it never interested me(as I'm a level grinding fanatic), it's just I've always had a problem with buying two games just to 'catch 'em all'. It seems wrong to me when the other game has very little to no changes in it that would warrant me getting it when one game would suffice. At any rate, I was compelled to get the new Pokemon game for the DS. I think it was more out of curiosity to see what Game Freak would produce on the DS. For the most part, I was pleased with the game. Pearl offers more of the same deep and addictive gameplay we've played in Pokemon all these years with just enough new monsters and things to do to keep me interested. It's easily the best Pokemon game yet. A game any DS owner should add to their library. However, even so, there were a few things I found fault in with the game. Due to technical limitations of the GameBoy, GameBoy Color & the GameBoy Advance; I could understand why they resorted to keeping the game 2-D with odd yelps and grunts for your Pokemon yet we now have a handheld that can produce full 3-D and great audio so why have only the overworld map in 3-D & not the battles and why keep the same odd yelps and grunts? It's been proven a game like this can be done in 3-D...just take a look at Dragon Quest Monsters-Joker. It would have been cool to see battles in a more Pokemon Stadium/Colosseum vein. 3-D is the natural evolution of games like these. It wouldn't have to have been done quite like DQM-Joker to have its' own unique style but 3-D would've been nice. Second, why not add a little more story to the game to give me more incentive to play the game? I love games with a good story. Thirdly, like I mentioned earlier- why two games when only one will work??

>At any rate, Pokemon Pearl is a solid game worthy of your hard-earned buck if you can get past those minor quibbles. I did, at least. Maybe Game Freak will take the hint and make a good change with the next round of Pokemon games. You've got to keep things fresh to keep people interested... ;)
