Pokemon My review is going too be short and to-the-point. <

>PROS: <
>-Good Graphics <
>-Nice controls <
>-Lots of hidden Items <
>-Its a Pokemon game! <

>CONS: <
>-Unfair Enemys. The computer always have a huge advantage over you. For example, in one battle they crushed my with FIVE CONSECUITVE horn drill attacks (which is an automatic ko that normally has about 30% accuracy) and EVERY SINGLE ATTACK of mine missed. <
> <
>-Bad enemy design. The enemys (the admins at least) are clad in HORRID eyesores. for example, Nasoucr, or whatever his name is in a purple spandex bodysuit, red skirt, white spikey hair, and pointed blue shoes. <
> <
>-I feel like Im playing a beta version. It feels like this game is off a demo disk. <
> <
>-No wild pokemon. Enough said.
Primitive animation.. but it's really pretty good
Pokemon Colluseum is the first 3D RPG in the Pokemon series, and is also the first one to feature an ...um... "dramatic" plot. The plot is REALLY pretty good.. if you can figure out what it is. For those of you having trouble with this, here is the plot:

<

<
>THE INTRO SEQUENCE EXPLAINED: You are Wes (or whatever you want to call him), some dude in wearing some bizzare blue robe-thing. You are a member of Team Snagem, the evil organization in Orre, the region of the game. You end up betraying Team Snagem, and steal their "snag machine", which is used to steal Pokemon from other trainers. You then drive your oversized motorcycle to a little restraunt in the middle of the desert.
<
>
<
>MIROR B: Who is this guy, anyways!? He is a member of the evil organization CIPHER, who was earlier using Team Snagem to capture Pokemon to turn into Shadow Pokemon. You might have noticed how some enemies have the titles "CIPHER ADMIN" or "CIPHER PEON". They are members of CIPHER too. The game does not really explain this, and knowing this can really improve your experience of the game.

>Okay, that sums up the plot.

>The game's graphics are very interesting. The areas and the Pokemon are very well designed, and often look very cool and are smoothly animated. The people are a whole different story, though. They are very low-res, and their animation is very wretched to say the least. Their running is very odd, with their legs sorta instantly switching between sides, and everything else is ridiculously simple linear animation with only a couple of keyframes (In English: It's simple and jerky animation.) But, there's somethign about the animation that just seems to add a different ambience to the game, though.

>For gameplay, most of it is flawless, except for a few glaring faults:
<
>
<
>1. It uses save points.
<
>2. The doors don't close.

>Okay, maybe #2 is a bit trivial, but everyone agrees that #1 is a horrible mistake.

>That sums up my review. I hope you find it useful in playing and/or buying the game!
Okay
I am a serious Pokemon fan; I have all "standard" Pokemon games up to Emerald, and I am definitely planning to get diamond and/or pearl. I am absolutely enchanted with those games, but somehow this one doesn't quite cut the cheese. The animation's great (awesome, actually), the plot's okay, but it just doesn't work as well. This game is okay overall. The plot is all right, but sometimes I find it harder to figure out than the other Pokemon games. I didn't like how all battles were double battles; that got old after awhile. Speaking of battles, somehow in the other games I never got sick of repetitive battling, at least in the plot, but on this game I did. Double battle after double battle after double battle. That was really the biggest mistake in this game.

>The concept of purifying Pokemon is interesting, to say the least. Actually, it's kind of neat, but it always bugged me to have to "snag" Pokemon from innocent trainers and keep them forever. The other interesting thing is there is another human character, for the first time in Pokemon history, that is controlled. I just found that interesting. In fact, I'd probably rate this game a four in fun if there weren't so many double battles. I like double battles okay, but I found that it can be tough to raise your Pokemon up really fast. But one great thing about the battles is that you can rebattle trainers over and over again, without any weird devices. I guess they had to do that to make up for the game's lack of wild Pokemon. Y'know, to give you some way of leveling up your Pokemon when you've battled all the trainers you're currently supposed to be battling. One major flaw is connected to that; if you didn't know you could rebattle the trainers, your Pokemon might get weak in comparison to the current trainers. In that sense, this game can be diificult to get used to after playing good ol' Red and Blue for so long.
