Good stick, but not the ultimate! <

>I am writing this review to help others who might be looking for an arcade style stick especially for fighting games. I have researched extensively online and had decided that I wanted a Pelican Real Arcade Stick. It had been very favorably reviewed by individuals and several gaming sites. Unfortunatel I had absolutely no luck in locating a new one. I even tried the company directly and found out that for some reason they discontinued it. Anyways, I was now looking for a decent stick at a fair price. This one caught my eye but I couldnt find much info about it. I found one very small user review on a website and nothing else. I called the company directly and had some trouble getting anyone on the phone, which makes me somewhat apprehensive about my ability to get help should I ever need to use the lifetime warranty this stick offers. However I did receive a relatively quick reply from a representative of Naki world. The VP of Sales actually left me a message and his cell number. I called him back and found him to be friendly and helpful even when he found out that I was a potential end user and not a corporate buyer. He told me that he used this stick himself with his playstation and hadnt had any trouble with it. However he told me that it shouldnt lag or drop out due to other wireless sources as it was using 900mhz and most things today are 2.4 and above. The unit actually does use a 2.4 ghz frequency. But that being said I have a 2.4 ghz phone as well and can use the phone while I am using this stick and have so far had no troubles with this sticks performance in the wireless aspect. When I received this stick the first thing that I noticed was that there were several small scratches that looked almost like cracks surrounding some of the buttons. This is a minor cosmetic issue though, on to the performance! The buttons are pretty good slightly convex to the touch and fairly responsive. One problem on some arcade style controllers is buttons that are mushy and weak, this controller avoids that problem It feels like they used pretty sturdy springs for these buttons they push down fairly stiffly and snap right back up quickly. As stated before the wireless feature is very decent. I have a small living room and am only about 10 feet away from my xbox wherever I choose to sit. But in this range I have had no trouble at all in the wireless area. There is virtually no lag between my pushing a button and seeind the corresponding action being demonstrated on my television. This unit also advertises that it has dual force feedback motors, this is probably a first at this price point but not really worth the hype as it is so weak that in many instances you will barely notice it and the vibrations are only carried through the actual stick. I would have thought that having the feedback motors on the bottom of the unit where you could feel it against your legs would have made it more effective but I am not an engineer and cant talk to the feasability of such a design. The stick is a little clicky and feels a little fragile, I am a little scared that I will break it actually. But I have not been especially gentle with it and it seems to beholding up ok. However my one big complaint is that the stick is very short and doesnt let you get a real good grip on it. I am not a particularly big guy and have smallish hands, so a person with big hands would probably really have a hard time with this stick. It does offer a full 360 range of motion which is useful in many games. In the final analysis I will say this, I hate the color and playing your favorite fighting games will require a new period of acclimation as you need to familiarize yourself with the button layout. But overall the stick does perform reasonably well and I dont believe you can find anything better at this price point. If I can find a way to increase the length of the shaft on this stick I will be very pleased indeed as it is it is functional and keeps my fingers from hurting like they did before when playing my favorite fighting games. I have been using this for a few days and would recommend it to anyone if you can get a good deal I paid about $30.00 US. <
