The Straps CAN be very TIGHT... Try a different way...!
We have been using our Platinum Cargo Car Seat for almost a year and a half. We are very happy with its sturdiness, ease of installation, and the fit in our cars (both SUV and my MIL's Toyota Corolla). The LATCH connection plus the tether make the seat completely secure and it does not move at all (altho' only my husband is strong enough to do that, not me...) The padding of the seat is very thick compared to many. Our daughter is comfortable and takes many naps in it. We've been using Graco products (Snugride, Comfortable Sport, City Lite Stroller etc) since she was a baby and have been extremely satisfied with all. <

>The Straps in the Platinum Cargo are fairly wide and thick, and have rarely twisted. We are used to the harness mechanism of Graco car seats (ratchet system), and this one is great without exception. Some reviewers say that the straps are loose and cannot get them fully tightened. We have no such problem at all. The ratchet strap system works when you first pull all the way as much as you can, then you'll have to pull it little by little until it is tight enough, usually after 5 to 6 small pulls. We have been able to secure our daughter really tightly to the standard of the car seat inspectors. <

>I have in fact purchased and returned an Evenflo Titan DLX which looked well-padded and was on sale. The straps in the Evenflo looked very similar (to that in the Graco) but they were impossible to tighten no matter how hard we tried. After we returned it and got the Platinum Cargo, it felt like a breeze working with the straps. <

Nice, but it creates too much frustration for us
We bought this seat for our second vehicle, so we didn't have to swap the original car seat back and forth. We had this seat for several weeks and have now returned it. It became too frustrating and I never felt that my daughter was truly safe in it. <

GREAT SEAT, WORTH EVERY PENNY
I purchased the Graco Platinum Cargo for my one year old and we both LOVE it!!! We owned the GRACO CHERISHED CARGO for my now 5 year old and loved that also.The memory foam is soooo nice and the reassurance of the EPS foam gives me peace of mind. We have never used the little neck pillow but as for the big pillow it is great for keeping my little guy comfortable. We used the LATCH system for installation and the seat is not going to move an inch. I do have to agree that as a belt positioning booster this seat is not so great but by the time my older son got to be 40 pounds he was ready to be out of his CHERISHED CARGO seat any ways. When we did have to use it we just did not hook the shoulder strap into those hooks. I would have given it 5 stars except for my prior use with this seat using it as a belt positioning booster. So all in all this seat is WONDERFUL and I LOVE IT!!! (so do both of my boys)
