Customer Reviews of Pinball Madness Plus (Jewel Case)
SLAM-TILT ROCKS!!! I've played many pinball games for PC over the years, some downright SUCK (amateurish graphics, laughable gameplay & physics) i.e. 3D Pinball Express, Total Pinball 25, Pinball Master (stay away from eGames, horrible!) to name a few... and some are simply awesome like Slam-Tilt! In fact, Slam-Tilt is still the best pinball collection I've ever played. All 4 tables are awesome with excellent visuals and animation and great ball action. Mean Machines, Ace Of Space, Pirate, & Demon all have excellent soundtracks that match the theme of the table you're playing. The animations at the top of each table are cool, too, but Demon takes the cake! You & your friends will get a kick out of the funny/gory animations on that table! Multiballs are plentiful on each table, but the ultimate is Mean Machines: totally fricken awesome when the music goes berserk and the table starts spitting out ball after ball after ball... totally insane but fun as hell!! The other pinball collection Platinum Pinball is a good collection with The Avengers (based on the 60's series) being the standout game. I found The Tomb lush and intricate, but boring and exasperating in its gameplay. Overall, a great collecion for what you get for the price if only for the Slam-Tilt tables. Now if only someone would reproduce some of the old DOS and Win 95/98 pinball games I used to enjoy like Expert Software's Pinball 4000, Epic Pinball, 21st Century's Pinball Gold Pack, & Psycho Pinball from Codemasters/Phillips...
Skip it.
First, let me say that I recieved "Space Cadet" pinball free w/my copy of WinXP - a very fast, responsive game, similar to what you'de find in an actual modern table. I got into it so much that I thought I'd buy some different tables.
This CD is a big let down. All the tables on this 1st P-Ball Madness collection have the slow and clunky feel of the actual tables prior to the early 70's (this is a BAD thing). Although there are 15 different tables, only 12 of them even come close to being worth playing (even once). The angles of these 12 are so slanted that you can hardly see what's going on in the upper areas.
The only thing warranting a second star is that a couple of the tables have pretty good 3D graphics (if you have a decent graphics card).
