Customer Reviews of Pilot Wings

A very different SNES title
Pilotwings was one of the Super Nintendo's earliest games. It was never as popular as Mario, but that didn't mean it was a bad game. This is one of the most underrated classics on the entire system. Read on to see why
Graphics: 3.75/5
These mode seven type graphics are definitely weak by modern standards, but way back in 1991, this was just about as good as it could get.
Play Control: 3.5/5
Each event takes some getting used to; no two are exactly alike. For example, the skydiving controls are pretty simplistic, but the hang glider is anything but easy. It takes some time to adjust to this game.
Challenge: 4/5
This is a fun game, but certainly not easy. In each course, you must score a certain number of points in a variety of events. Do so and you go to the next level. Fail and you must repeat it. There are ten missions total, eight standard and two helicopter battle missions. The latter are this game's most difficult part.
Theme/Fun: 3.75/5
This game is dated, but it's still a classic in my eyes. It's an oldie but a goodie. Keep in mind, though, this is NOT an accurate flight simulation. If you're expecting realism, look elsewhere. The bonus stages are pretty entertaining too, if you can get them, that is.
Music/Sound: 2.75/5
Very simplistic sound and music that fails to stand out in a crowd.
Storyline: 2/5
You're training to be a pilot, I guess. There really isn't much of a story other than that.
Overall: 4/5
Though never as popular as most Super Nintendo games, this still stands as an excellent one. Sure, it's dated, but that doesn't mean it's not a fun game. If you've got a Super Nintendo, this is a game worth trying at least once.
Where's the 64 Version?
I loved it! One of my all-time favourites!
