Customer Reviews of Photo Clip Art 100,000
If I could give it NO STARS I would. 10 minutes after view this set up, all I could think was I want my money back!! 7 CDS of JUNK!!! And I am not kidding. There were a dozen photos of Scotland, for an example, and all of them were so horrible poor, if I did not know what Kilchurn Castle looked like I would not not I was looking at it in the photo!!
That a respected organisation puts REJECTS in this shoddy product is beyond belief.
The set installs with a webbrowser- only way to view the GARBAGE, it spend more time trying to sell you images from their collection on the net.
This is a TOTAL RIP OFF and they should be a shamed they dared put this out.
Best thing going...but....
I was hoping for a larger variety of useful photos, but they are great quality. The online subscription to the 'big box of 650000' is very helpful. These are not hemera photos, but I find myself using them regularly.
Hemera photos are beautiful and "Yay!" copyright free. But a lot of them have me wondering "Why did they put all these in here?" There's a man with a turban doing this in one. Putting his arms sideways in the next. On his head in the next. etc" I would rather have a program with a man with a turban, then a tree, then an egg. BTW, I've never found a reason to use the man with the turban or the woman in the crazy clothes (lots of those).
With regular upgrades, I know they are improving on the quantity and variety of selections.
The browser that comes with this is easy to use and really is pretty good. But there are some quirks I don't like with it. For example, it's hard to just browse the different sections. And while it has a 'check all' button for the sections, it doesn't have an 'uncheck all'.
Still, for this great price and for the wonderful quality, it's well worth your money.
FYI: Another program that seems to have great quality clip art is Print Shop (I have version 12). They have a whole 'fine art' section which is impressive for clip art! It's a user-friendly program for graphics, and I prefer print shop to other programs (like Photoshop or MS Publisher) when making labels.
An annoyance
I have the Big Box of Art 615,000--another Hemera product.
When the browser for Photo Clip Art installs, it melds with the Big Box index (without asking permission) and forever after you are forced to view the Big Box index FIRST, then the Photo Clip art. (And the VERY first images are all available only for online purchase, Hemera's intrusive marketing to its paid users.)
Request "Christmas tree" and you'll be forced to slog through 4000 Big Box cartoons and drawings before arriving at the Photo selection. There's a box to check to limit the search to Photo Clip art, but the browser ignores your request.
The photos are typical good Hemera quality, but forced marketing and forced combination of the two indexes makes using this program more of an annoyance than a paid customer ought to endure.
