Employing the famed mechanism invented in 1842 by renowned French manufacturer Peugeot, the salt and pepper mills in this clear acrylic set deliver showers of fresh seasonings when their ball-shaped knobs are twisted. As was true when Peugeot produced the world's first pepper mill, grooves in a Peugeot pepper-grinding mechanism are individually cut into steel and the mechanism is then hardened, making it virtually indestructible and deserving of its lifetime warranty against defects. The salt mill's mechanism is nearly identical, only it's made of stainless steel to resist the corrosive nature of salt.
