It has come to our attention that a few of you feel that the tray for our Peas and Carrots High Chair is too far from your child. We would like an opportunity to explain our philosophy behind the design. From six months through the first year of your child's life, as a parent, you do most of your child's feeding. The tray has been positioned in such a way that you can use it to hold your child's (baby) food, bowls, spoons, etc. This distance gives you a little more room for bonding while making it more difficult for your child to knock over dishes while eating. <

Best High Chair On The Market - Zooper Peas & Carrots
In the spirit of disclosure I work for Zooper. The Peas & Carrots High Chair is intended for children from 6 months to about 40 lbs. The distance of the tray to the seat is 8" - 10" by design. There is also a recline feature to increase this distance. This distance allows the child to grow with the chair which maximizes its usefulness. Most feeding at the early ages is done by the parent, so it is not as critical for the child to be right next to the tray. If the distance is still a challenge you can place a small cushion behind the child which will decrease the open space between the front of the child and the tray. not at all what i expected
I was so excited about this high chair that I held off buying one until it became available in the beginning of May. Now I am stuck with shipping charges to return it. It is a poor design... the tray will only go as far back as the end of the arm rests. Most high chair allow the tray to connect over the arm rest giving a more snug fit to help hold baby in place, but this one will always have at least 8-10 inches between the seat back and tray. WAY too big for my tiny baby. As I mentioned, I am returning this product and ordering the Peg Perego.
