Customer Reviews of Peachtree Pro Accounting 2008
Peachtree, Where is the competition? Peachtree 2008 has 2 major problems. First is that it will not run at some native resolutions under Windows Vista. Our LCD monitors run at 1600x1200 and a few run at 1280 x 1024. Peachtree will not display the fonts properly and cuts off text on almost every menu. Support claims you must "lower" the resolution on all monitors to 1024x768 or less. Peachtree wants customers to use software compatible to technology from 10 years ago. The second problem is that the 2008 so called "upgrade," runs much slower than earlier versions including 2007. They advertize it runs "faster," but it does not. We installed it on 4 machines doing nothing more than "upgrading," from 2007 to 2008 and every machine ran the software much slower after the "upgrade." <

>Please, someone out there, come up with an alternative to Peachtree. Every year they come out with an "upgrade," which basically adds meaningless features they should have included many years ago. If you do not buy the upgrade, then support claims your ""old" version is not compatible and must be upgraded.
Slow and "Clunky"
I'm not an accountant, but I am a businessman. I have used One Write Plus for 13 years. Since OWP is no longer on the market, and the fact that I'm switching accountants, I bought the Peachtree Pro 2008. I'm not at all impressed. On the click of my mouse my OWP was up, running and ready to use in 3 seconds. It takes Peachtree 10 seconds or more to load. I'm using a new Dell with a 2 duo core 2.4 GgHZ intel processor and 2 Gg of RAM, so it's not my computer. Also the tax updates are extremely expensive ($249 a year) What's up with that when you can change them yourself for free? Before buying this mess, check with your accountant for other software, there's got to be something better than this out there.
