Customer Reviews of Paparazzi (Widescreen Edition)
Vigilante Justice for those pesky Paparazzi!! I was skeptical when I first rented this DVD, but all in all how could one not be interested in seeing a movie where you can take revenge against the biggest jerks of all time?! <

>Directed by Paul Abascal, Paparazzi chronicles the aftermath of four paparazzi photographers whose search for the all-important "perfect shot" ends in a tragic car accident. Movie star Bo Laramie (Cole Hauser) is understandably furious when, thanks to the notorious celebrity chasers, his wife, Abby (Robin Tunney), is seriously injured, and his 8-year-old son is paralyzed. After the accident, Bo dedicates his life to putting a stop to a paparazzo's deadly overzealousness. Chris Rock, Matthew McConaughey, Mel Gibson, and Vince Vaughn are featured in Cameo Appearances in this film. <

>All in all a good flick, it's light beer, not dark, but still smooth and worth a sip!
Borrow from a Buddy, because it's not worth renting twice
This film is Mel Gibson 's retaliation on the tabloid media circus that surrounds Hollywood's rich and famous. It was produced by ICON , Mel's own production company, and it just lambastes the entire industry as a whole from start to finish.

>The film stars Cole Hauser as Bo Lamarie, as an up and coming movie star who is thrust into the limelight when his action thriller series becomes a huge success. As with all fame comes a price, and in this case, it's Lamarie's privacy. Stalked by a corps of renegade photographers, Laramie cannot sneeze without making the cover of the national tabloids. What are worse are the devious ploys to incite Lamarie into compromising situations all at the hands of the lead photographer and movie's nemesis, Rex Harper (played by Tom Sizemore). One of the films more ominous scenes is a recreation of the Princess Diana - paparazzi vehicular incident, which took the life of the late Princess; in the film, the accident places Lamarie's son in a coma.

>After a freak accident, in which Lamarie is present; one of the psycho photographers slides off a hillside embankment to his death. This provides Lamarie all the cognitive reasoning needed to actively exact his revenge on the rest of the paparazzi mafia.

>The film is contrite, and has the feeling of a direct-to-video release (which it might have been, I'm in Kuwait for gosh sakes). It's not all that dreadful, but if forces me to employ a new rating. "Borrow from a Buddy", because it's just not worth renting it again to see.

Better than I expected
The movie was a good waste of time nothing more. It's kind of hard to root for one side in this movie. The best parts are the cameos by Chris Rock, Gibson, Vince Vaughn etc.
