Customer Reviews of Panasonic ES8092NC Men's Pivot Action Pro-Curve Wet/Dry Rechargeable Linear Shaver
A Fabulous Shaver The Panasonic ES8092NC is a really fine shaver -- it does everything it should and does it all well. It delivers a high speed shave that will match just about anything, triple blade manual or electric. It is beautifully designed and made -- it looks and feels like a precision instrument, and it is! It will easily outperform Norelco, which to my mind, has been a big, clunky disappointment over the years. I own an old (really old -- at least a dozen years or so) Panasonic 817 electric shaver that has been a flawless workhorse with only an ocassional blade replacement. Based on my experience with 817, I went for an "upgrade" to the 8092. It's worth every penny for the new machine, especially when other retailers are selling it for 20-30 bucks more than Amazon. The ability of the shaver to be immersed in water/soap/lotion really makes a difference in the shaving procedure -- I don't know how other manufacturers have managed to ignore making their shavers work wet, but they have. I'm still getting used to finding the best techniques for shaving with the 8092 (they say it takes 3-4 weeks for your face to get adjusted) but I would readily recommend this to anyone seeking a premium grade electric razor. It would make a great gift item for any man, whether for a teenager just starting to shave or an old, grizzled salt like me with a tough beard that seems to get tougher as the years roll on.
My very first Electric Shaver
Lets be succint. Razors cause me skin irration (redness) and I have never experienced a shave without some knick (bleeding) of some sort. The Panasonic ES8092NC is efficient and sets out to do what its supposed to.
PROS: Virtually knick/cut free. Easy to clean, recharge, and carry. I have found that using it dry is less "irritating" than using it wet(closer shave which may lead to irritation and a cut if not careful) When using it wet, I think you have to use less pressure on the skin. I believe my skin to be more sensitive than other people's and by far, this shaver outbenefits the nightmares associated with regular razors...
CONS: First time users will feel more skin irration (redness) which will subside after a week or two of continued use. MAY cause slight skin redness if pushed too hard onto the skin. I have to use it over an area more than once to get the right shave, which is annoying and will be MORE TIME CONSUMING! The cut is NOT quite as close as a razor (however a razor literally scrapes the skin off of me)but on the same note, the panasonic shave is sharp enough where you can run your hand along the skin and feel no stubble (except maybe in those really hard to reach places where even a razor is hard to get at.)
4 Stars mainly for the time factor. Other than that - I like the product and recommend it.
Very Pleased
First, I want to make sure that you do not make the mistake I almost made... I tried this Panansonic Shaver a few times and was originally convinced there was no way this shaver would provide me as close a shave as my Mach 3 blades. I was wrong! You need to give it a few weeks of consistently working with it as your face adjusts to a new method of shaving.
After using it now for about five weeks, I get a great shave every day. At first, I was too cautious in my approach to use the shaver from multiple angles to get at difficult spots- like my neck. But as my face got used to it, now I can move back and forth from different angles and get that close shave I did not when I first used it. I found my best shaves are right out of the shower and with a little bit of shaving cream applied.
Please... if you are like me and might be giving up after a few tries, stick with it. The reviews here encouraged me not only to spend quite a bit of money to buy this model, but also to continue using the shaver despite my first impression. I love it now and I am glad I bought it.
