Good Ext CDRW but few problems I was looking for an external USB CDRW for some time and found a good deal on this drive. I think for the price that I paid for it is not a bad drive but there are few problems that I will like to point out to the fellow amazon users.
The drive comes in a nice black case which is sturdy and feels solid. It comes with a power supply, usb cable, CD writing software and there is an off/on button at the back on the writer.
What I liked about the drive -
1. The driver was easy to install, my win2000 automatically detected and it seems that win2000 and XP already have the required drivers, I believe a layman can also install this drive without any help.
2. I was able to overburn a CD and I am happy with the final outcome.
What I did not like in this drive -
1. The drive manual suggests that there should be earphone jacks and volume control on the CDRW but mine don't have them. Also, the functionality to play the audio CD's is missing. This can sometimes become a bottleneck.
2. The CD writing software bundled with the drive though called simpliCD is one of the worst CD writing softwares I have used, may be because I love nero so much. Still, I am a soft engg and I found it difficult to use that software.
3. The CD drive is black from outside but as soon you open the tray you will be surprised beacuse it's all white from inside which doesn't look nice.
