Customer Reviews of Outlaw Star Collector's Set 1-Vol. 1-7
Anime for all ages My granddaughter loves this sieris very much. She was pestering us for the un-cut version of Outlaw Star for about a week and then started to look for it. Now that she has found it, we can't pry her away from the TV. She learned Maelfinas song in a day, and can give a pretty good bio on all the charachters. I can't say i hate the show either. I will occasionally watch with her, and enjoy it almost as much as her.
Great Anime
Great. That sums up the whole series in one word. I Love this series. It has humor and action and a deep plot. Here is a synopsis. Venture with Gene Starwind and Jim Hawking as they obtain the legendary ship, the XGP-15 AII (The Outlaw Star). They are on multipul quests, figure out Melfina's past, Figure out what and where the galatic layline is, and to top it off they need to get out of dept. It seems hopeless, but to find out how they do it you have to see the un-cut version of Outlaw Star. So, just get the tapes. You know you want to.
Super cool anime!
I have never seen the Japanese release version, and have only seen what has been aired on Cartoon Network, but I still think that Outlaw Star is one of the best anime series I have ever seen. It is not as well-drawn as some other shows of the genre, such as Cowboy Bebop, etc., but I think the storyline is better. The characters are halfway deep--well, some of them--and I have grown to appreciate them--esxcept for the badguys, of course. Well, in case you do not know, Outlaw Star is a futuristic sci-fi anime cartoon involving space pirates, outlaws, and space forces. Space is not as much a home to these people of the future as in some sci-fi, but is more a remote place for only the wealthy...and the unlawful. The hero of the show is Gene Starwind, a 20 year old outlaw who works with 11 year old Jim Hawking repairing equipment and pretty much looking for any job that will earn them money. Anyway, they meet another outlaw named Hilda, who teams them up with an android named Melfina. Melfina, Gene, Jim, and an assassin that they meet named Twilight Suzuka are the main characters, and they use a ship that they acquire called the Outlaw Star to fend off pirates and eventually go in search of the Galactic Layline (don't ask me what it is). This is an action-packed series, and any fan of action anime should buy this, unless you just want to watch it on TV.
