Customer Reviews of Outer Space Is Just a Martini
This probably is the most musical friendly of the frist 3 Well this is to be the last thought album with any metal backing behind it, but what a way to go this seems to be alternative meets metal not as progressive as the first 2 but still an intense listen like i said not for the faint of heart i've played for most of friends and i get mixed reviews from it check it out for yourself.
lyrics for serious drinkers
Brent Oberlin and his troupe were at full strength on this release and it shows. The additions of bassist Herb Ledbetter and drummer Jared Bryant added a missing piece to what was missing from Songs for Insects and Mods. This was also the last recording to feature guitarist/keyboardist Chris Lee and he left his mark on the pounding score of Dante Dangling from a Noose. This was a crowning victory for this struggling band of musical geniuses and even though every one of their recordings is nothing short of ear candy, they have not equalled this.

It gets 4 stars because at heart, it is still Thought Industry, but on this, their 3rd album, something is clearly missing. I mean, other than the mandatory Salvador Dali cover art (and that absence is bad enough!) One is forced to assume that it is Dustin Donaldson, the former drummer who parted with the band after Mods Carve the Pig. Apparently he lent a great deal to the style of Thought Industry's sound, because the tracks that comprise "Outer Space" just aren't quite at the same level as the tracks that made up the first two albums. But Oberlin is still here, with his thesaurus, dictionary, and a pile of backissues of The Nation on hand. Which means, for those unfamiliar with TI, that the lyrics are still quite an adventure. The music is still highly unique, and there are even a few selections here that qualify as Thought Industry classics in their own way. But it is not the place to begin with this band.
