Customer Reviews of Original Bedside Co-Sleeper
Perfect for parents who want to stay close to baby! My son slept in the crook of my left arm for his first 3 1/2 months, and then I let him start sleeping in his co-sleeper. It gives me tremendous peace of mind to have him so close. Some moms will roll over and night-nurse their babies without anyone having to get out of bed, and others just pull the babies into the adult bed with them to night-nurse.
The co-sleeper is very easy to assemble and is attached securely to our queen size bed. It's sturdy -- I've never worried that it would fall apart. We have a newer bed with a very thick, pillowtop mattress, so I had to order leg extensions from Arm's Reach to elevate the co-sleeper to the correct height. But they only cost ~$15 and were also simple to install.
My baby is now 6 months old and is getting too old to sleep in the bassinet area, as he tries to pull himself up on things and could fall out. We may convert to the playyard and have him continue to sleep next to our bed, or we may start putting him in his crib in his own room.
My family and I highly recommend this product!
Perfect for the breastfeeding mom!
I love love love the Arm's Reach Co-Sleeper and recommend this to all new parents, especially those breastfeeding! My sons both loved the co-sleeper, and I was happy being able co-sleep with more room for my husband and I, with baby close by (so easy to roll over and nurse), and with baby in a safer environment, without the worry of pillows or blankets too close. We used this as a changing table as well as bed, and stored baby items in the bottom of the play yard area. After my son outgrew his co-sleeper, I passed it along to our sitter to use as a play yard. Besides my baby sling, and breastmilk pump, this was the most used baby item I bought! Highly recommended!!!
Forget the bassinet, go for the co-sleeper
From day one my baby refused to sleep in the bassinet. I wound up having her sleep in my arms. The bassinet was just too small & confined. (My baby was 19 3/4" & weighed 8 lbs 6 oz.) She just would not sleep in it. So after 2 months of her sleeping in the crook of my arm, I read the reviews about the co-sleeper & figured that I would give it a try. I was concerned about her safety & I wanted a decent nights sleep. So I've had the co-sleeper for 2 months now & I am so happy that I got it. It's so nice & room for her & she is right next to me for her nightly feedings. She sleeps better & so do I. The best thing about the co-sleeper is that she can use it until she's 6 months. Bassinets are only good for 2 -3 months depending on the size of your baby. I highly recommend this! It's sturdy & roomy for baby to sleep in. It also turns into a playpen or can be used as a changing table.
