Right away, players will notice the fine details this game offers. Any character you approach, even an inconspicuous mine worker, will stop to chat with you. But your comrades in arms won't accept just any offering in exchange for assisting you: in a nod to the Japanese tradition of thoughtful gift-giving, you must find and offer items that fit their interests. Don't go offering an antique brooch to someone looking for imported "spirits." Unless you have vodka or wine to offer him, he will get downright sullen.
As for the gore rating for Onimusha, it depends on your previous game-playing history. It will be considered mild by FPS fans, since the enemies and their flying body parts emit "only" a small amount of blood before disappearing in a puff of dust. For those same serious gamers, the controls will be a nuisance--for instance, you use the direction buttons instead of the left analog for running around. Another drawback: as with most highly controlled game environments, the forced perspective can cause columns and building sections to get in your way during crucial fight scenes. But those comfortable with these minor faults will be amply rewarded by movie-style quick scene edits, inventive ideas from the last edition (in particular, chests guarded by puzzles), and that addictive "fight, collect things, fight, upgrade to really cool things" dynamic that makes so many games great. --Jennifer Hauseman

Customer Reviews of Onimusha 2
I still like the first one a little better The graphics and gameplay are very very good. The way the rain and the ocean looked was really awesome.
But the reason why I give this only 4 stars is because the other characters in the game are just so annoying!!!! The lines are weak and stupid!!!!! I mean did people back then in that country really act like that???????? Jubei had too much of a deep voice. I really didn't much care about the fat man's sad story. The guy with the gun was trying way too hard to be a badass. Gogandantess was right about the girl being weak. And I hate it when characters fall in love with only knowing each other only a day or a few hours. People don't fall in love like that.
I found Jubei to be to headstrong. Too gun-ho in fighting. He took on the bad guys way to early. And he cared a little too much for that one demon who kept repeating name. That scene where Godandantess is dieing was sooooo F***ING stupid!!!!
I like Samanosuke better!!!!!! And if there was a Samanosuke V.S. Jubei. Samanosuke would win that fight!!! I can't wait until he comes back in the 3rd one.
Onimusha is back with a bang
This would surely be the best game on the PS2 if it were just a little bit longer. I have to warn you, if you're looking for a fun game, then you've found it, but if you don't like short games maybe you should reconsider buying this. Personally, I have never played such a great a game and I would recommend it to any Capcom fan. It's like Street Fighter, Final Fantasy, and Resident Evil all in one game, so if you like any of those(and don't mind how short the game is) buy Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny right now!

Jubei Lives in Onimusha.....
This is the 1st Onimusha that I really play and finished. I love it so much.... The weapons, gameplay, plot and so much more.... But most of all is the entire onimusha settings, fighting demon enemies.... locations, cut scene, characters involved, simply breath taking... I have not enjoyed a great like onimusha for such a long time... I will continue to embrace it. Highly recommended....
