Customer Reviews of One More Time
Real McCoy: One More Try Ok so the second release from Real McCoy doesn't have the magic their debut album had but it still has it's moments. Their first U.S. release, "Another Night" cranked out the hits "Another Night" "Come and Get Your Love" "Run Away",etc.. Their follow up album "One More Time", tries to re-capture that same energy but seems to miss. I'm not saying this album is bad...the title track will get any party off on the right track, however, I was craving the solid dance sounds of "Run Away" and "Automatic Lover" found on the first album. True Real McCoy fans will be satisfied with this release but are looking forward to a new album soon. We'll give Real McCoy one more try.
It can probably pass for an OK dance record.
OK, so what happened here? After a triple platinum debut album and an international #1 single, Real McCoy fails to power up with their sophomore effort ONE MORE TIME. Unfortunatley, this superb dance group has fallen under the sophomore slum. "One More Time" is one of the best dance songs I have ever heard, but the remainder of the disc is rather weak. The songs "I Wanna Come (With You)", "I'm Outta Here", "Take a Look at Your Life" are all pretty good, "Give A Little Love" almost sounds like an Ace of Base track. But O-Jay's raps went from being macho on the first record to downright stupid on this one. Vanessa and Lisa's vocals mix great, but the songs are all weak musically. So, if you want a dance record that powers up, try to keep this one on the bottom of your list.
Germans Light Up the Sky.....AGAIN!
I remember when I first heard the Irresistible "One More Time" on the radio sometime in 1997 or 1998. I knew that one of my favorite bands at that time was back again, Lightning stroke twice! And "One More Time" sounded Energetic, Catchy with great Beat, and very similar to "Another Night" or "Runaway". Simply a Great Dance/Pop track.
This album starts with the Awesome "One More Time" and it delivers an Unstoppable string of HITS, yeah they are all nothing less than Great Dance, and 2 songs some are slower, but they are Great and Beautiful Love songs.
Unlike the first album, that had 3 Covers, this album has only One, and it's an Awesome Fast Classic EuroDance cover of Shania Twain's hit "If You're Not in It for Love", written by the Great Mutt Lange. It's a Great Classic EuroDance take on this Already Great song. It Picks you up and does not let you down.
All other songs on this album are Original songs, All written by the talented team of Jeglitza/Argovits/J Wind, they're talented songcrafters.
Actually "Love Save Me" was written by Billy Steinberg and Rick Nowels, who wrote one song for their 1-st album too. It's a Great Synth/Dance song!
Actually all songs have Electronic/Synth elements, and are All Great, many are done in a Reggae/Dance style with synths! Great Synths, Beats, and Great Melodies, Female Vocals and Male Rap (sometimes Reggae Rap too). Great Stuff!!
I would like to single out "Love is a Stranger" because it's one of my Extra Extra favorite synth/dance songs on this CD. They are All my favorite though, so hard to pick out.
BTW "Take a Look at Your Life" is a Great Dance song about money (of all things!).
There are also 2 of the Most Beautiful Love Ballads on this Album. These are "Look At Me" and "Tomorrow". Both of these are just Heavenly and their Beauty is Beyond words, one needs to hear them. They are very heart-warming.
I've had this album for a long time, and I still enjoy Listening to it. It's FANTASTIC DANCE/POP/TECHNO. A Must for any Pop/Dance collection. I just wish Arista promoted them more in US. They got little promotion.
Thank You for reading this review.
