Customer Reviews of Now That's What I Call Music! The Best Videos of 2003
Could've been better. NOW always releases good cds and I've been buying them for several years. So when I saw this DVD here at Amazon I didn't hesitate and bought it but I found out that it wasn't that good but here you'll find some very good videos as:
1- MYA: "My love is like...wo"
This video was chosen by MTV as one of the 20 best videos of 2003. The song was also a big hit in the charts.
2- SNOPP DOGG: "Beautiful"
For this hit song, they made a fresh video in Rio.
3- JESSICA SIMPSON: "The sweetest sin"
For the first single of her 2003 album, they chose this song which is very good and for the video they chose as model Jessica's husband, Nick Lachey ("America's young sweethearts")
4- LISA MARIE PRESLEY: "Lights out"
I have to be honest here, I thought that her music was going be horrible but her voice and style is very good as the video
5- 3 DOORS DOWN: "When I'm gone"
This is a video that was shoted with the American Marines that were ready for the war.
6- COLDPLAY: "Clocks"
The video of this song is very good also, in a very Coldplay way.
Those are the best videos in my opinion. You'll also find in this DVD Evanescence's video "Going under". I'would've added better "Bring me to life".
In general is a good DVD that you can easily like but there were other good videos as "Me against the music" (Britney Spears & Madoona), "Ooh!" (Mary J. Blige), "In da club" (50 cent) or "Where is the love" (Black eyed peas).
And finally another thing that I don't like of this DVD is that doesn't have special features.
Not impressed
I like about half of the videos included. What really got to me was the overall quality of the videos. The sound quality was not that great. The bass sounded static like. Maybe I got a bad copy but I don't like icky sound quality on a DVD.
I don't know...
How can it be the best of 2003 when in my opinion the 3 best videos of the year are not on it. They are Liz Phair's "Why Can't I",Fountains of Wayne's "Stacy's Mom" (the last two are available on CD NOW 14) and OutKast's "Hey Ya!". I hope all three make the next collection along with Beyonce with Jay-Z's "Crazy In Love" (the brassline is an earworm of mine)
Of course I remember the old days of the early 1980's when MTV actually PLAYED videos...
