Customer Reviews of Night School
Night School Night School was better than I expected.Ken Hughes did a good job even though it is nothing to new in the genre.I liked this movie also because it was a red herring type horror film.I knew who the killer was from the beggining but in the early 80's this film was probably very effective. This movie definetly gave it's share of chills and scares.I'm usually not scared easily but I jumped a few times in this film. The dialogue is a little better than your average slasher and the acting is way better than I expected; trust me though it's not great.I didn't like the costume the killer wore or the way they executed some of the death scenes but besides that it is a solid 6.Check it out.
They work by day, take a full schedule of classes at night and somehow find time for study and an occasional date.Women in the evening curriculum at Boston's distinguished Wendell College do a lot to get ahead in life. But there's someone who will go to even greater lengths.Someone who will do anything to get a head.A killer whose m.o. is the ritualistic decapitation of victims makes terror a required course at Night School.Leonard Mann portrays the homicide lieutenant assigned to the puzzling case.He has hunches but no clues.Suspects but no evidence. And body count is rising.Finals are comin early this year at Wendell. And for those who don't make the grade, heads will roll.
Surprisingly good 80's suspense thriller ...
I was pleasantly surprised by this flick, even though I figured out who the killer was rather quickly. This is still an extremely watchable film.
Not bad.
A slasher flick with more action elements than suspense elements, really, and a definite pull away from horror and toward mystery. This unfortunately makes it less successful than it might have been as either (a horror film or a mystery) and the "twist" is pretty standard for a horror film (and strains credibility).
But the acting is above par as are the overall production values, and there isn't a lot of padding--there's something of a story with characterization and so on rather than a series of murders held together by nothing.
One could certainly do (much) worse in picking a slasher film from this era.
