Customer Reviews of Neverwinter Nights Platinum DVD Edition
A lot of content, but ultimately clunky The Dungeons and Dragons features and game engine are impressive and well-done. Unfortunately, the game is noticeably clunky and ultimately could not hold my interest past 2 playing sessions. The gameplay is just too slow.
Countless hours of fun!
NWN is one of the few RPF that I don't need cheats to win. The gameplay I would say is rather linear. You follow a set path. The only thing that really draws me is the storyline. It's no less fantastic than it is original. The original NWN is great, nice story with a twist although I guessed it beforehand. SOU is a bit boring........and too easy as my character's level was too high. I am currently playing HOU, it is certainly more fun than NWN or SOU and I love the party system here. In NWN or SOU, I prefered to solo as I didn't like to "save" my sidekicks...but in HOU, I am a lvl 20 soceror, lvl 10 palemaster. lvl 10 red dragon disciple. And my sidekick; Deekin is a lvl 20 bard and lvl 20 red dragon disciple. And of course I took sexy Sharwyn, she however along with the other adventurers didn't recgonise the HERO of NWN! A bit stupid on bioware's part, they should let the other adventurers which we know so well from NWN to revel in the glory of HOU's main character!

>The new party system didn't require me to save my sidekicks, in fact, I hide behind them and cast spells which was more fun! The storyline is really engaging. The only reason I would continue playing! Many bugs in the game still even in the Platinum edition! Your hero gets stuck in doors, caves....then you have to save and reload! I mean even with constant updates - ver1.65 there were still technical issues especially with chapter 2 of SOU. There was a lag, first timer ever I experienced a lag in an offline game! The online aspects allows one to max out levels and get the best items on training maps and then export your characters locally to your own game which is awesome! I mean you can create a lvl 40 character in chapter 1 to wreak havoc! Sounds stupid but its really fun! Imagine polymorphing into a lumbering red dragon when your opponent is a bandit! There are really many new feats available in HOU which is a plus. I mean after finishing HOU, I foresee myself purchasing the premium modules: Kingmaker which is rpg of the year! Nevewinter is all about the storyline which is engrossingly entertaining, never a dull moment, the game is fast paced and suitable for casual gamers.

>I am playing a couple of games now, when I get sick of one, I play another. NWN fits my category. I play it casually and was able to complete SOU in a week. I mean, the Platinum edition is a great buy, worth the money I paid for. Although online game play is ridiculously stupid (I leave it for you to find out). This game is meant for solo play, not group playing. 100+ hours of fun and a really great storyline. You will love it once you start to play it!
Not a Dungeons and Dragons fan but still pretty fun.
I had never played dungeons and dragons before i played this game but was pleasently suprised. The single player mode has interesting story and a lot of interesting features to develop your character. If you are not familiar with D&D there is a high learning curve to understand all the aspects of the game, but that is part of the fun. I feel it is worth the effort. The multiplayer mode is fun and there are servers set up where you can play for free. You can simply fight other characters or there are new stories which you can explore on different servers with other players. My favorite feature is the pick pocket although I am rarely successful. Overall a really fun game that most people should enjoy.
