Customer Reviews of Neon Genesis Evangelion
My new favorite CD I bought this CD, even though it cost fifty bucks, because Evangelion's music is awesome. The first track, Evangelion's theme song, is the meat & potatoes of the CD. When translated, the song title is "The Thesis of the Cruel Angel". The second track, "Fly Me To the Moon," is hauntingly calm for such a series. The song plays after each episode in the series. It's like the calm after the storm, and before another. The rest of the tracks are instrumental music from the series except for the last one, another remix of "Fly Me To the Moon." The only song which I dislike is track nine, Asuka's theme. It simply does not fit into this CD. This is the music from the first few episodes. My friend and I like listening to the music on this disc and reminicing on when this music was played in the series. Overall, a fine CD. Good beat, great music. Only problem is the price.
Above Average Soundtrack
I always buy anime soundtracks based on which songs they have. It really pisses me off when a song I like is not on it, so here are the songs from the series I recognized:
Cruel Angel's Thesis-Opening Theme
Fly Me To The Moon-Ending Theme
Angel Attack-First appears during the first episode when Shinji first sees the angel
Rei 1-Rei's theme song. First appears when you first see Rei.
Barefoot In the Park-First appears when Shinji is in the car with Misato, who is angry over how her car got wrecked.
Misato-That happy song they play in mornings.
Asuka Strikes!-Asuka's theme song. Can't remember where it shows up...oh well, it's a crappy song anyway.
Tokyo-3-First appears when Shinji is marveling at the geo-front.
1.Shinji-Episode 1 First appears at the bit where Shinji won't pilot Unit 01
Decisive Battle-This is the music for the next episode in English.
Eva-00-I think this is the song they play when Unit 00 goes berserk.
The Beast-Faster version of Eva-00
22nd Track-Next episode song for Japanese version.
Well, there you are. I left some out, but they really aren't easily noticed and you're probably not looking for them anyway.
I might add them later, but for the meantime, enjoy!
Over and Above Typical Shin Seiki Evangelion!
This CD is much MUCH more than what I had expected it to be like. It may have a bunch of instrumentals, and personally, I'm not such a big fan of instrumentals. But since I knew the series well, the music made me feel like I was watching the series--without the flashy pictures right before my eyes. The most hit track on this CD in my opinion has to be the 1st one, otherwise known (translated) as Cruel Angel's Thesis. Now, this song isn't usually played at this long a time--it's an extended version and if you really must know, it's well worth the listening to. Maybe you might not want to buy a CD ... and have only one good song, but if you're a true, die-hard, hard-core (and all those other descriptive phrases ^^;) then you must get this CD to enjoy the full blast of Shin Seiki Evangelion! When you buy it, you will NEVER be disappointed.
