Ho, ho, ho! Who knew Santa was an amateur biologist? National Geographic, that's who. Jolly old St. Nick takes time out of his busy day to answer kids' questions (included in their wish-list letters) about winter animals in this delightful video. He sets the record straight on which pole the penguins live at (South) and slips in some real information while showing footage of frolicking otters, clam-eating walruses, and migrating reindeer. To keep with the Christmas theme, old carols are given a winter-animal-flavored twist. "A Partridge in a Pear Tree" becomes "A Panda in a Tall Tree," and swimming birds called mers propel themselves deep into icy waters accompanied by The Nutcracker Suite. This tape is more flexible in theme than many holiday videos--you can get it out early and keep it out late, or simply give it a permanent place on the kids' video shelf for year-round viewing. --Kimberly Heinrichs

Customer Reviews of National Geographic's Animal Holiday
ADORABLE Although my 7 year old doesn't think this video is adorable, I do; to him it's cool. He received this as a Christmas gift from his 2 older brothers, and still pops it in to watch it. We just played it for our 8 month old, too. National Geographic did a great job capturing the animals, making it enjoyable for all ages, and sometimes comical! Highly recommend this video.
