Customer Reviews of NFL Super Bowl XLI - Indianapolis Colts Championship DVD
Disappointment in NFL Films Hi, <
> <
>I'm more of a fan of the NFL as a whole and look forward to these releases. <
> <
>The last 4 Were fantastic. The change last year from highlighting the superboswl with the whole game to the game of the week but at 44 minutes and not the current 22. The music the title music all lost and edge. <
> <
>I'm assuming they'll put out a 2-3 disc set to rake in the $$. <
> <
>It will be worth it for Colts fans but the only great game was the AFC championship and it should have it's own DVD hopefully someday. <
> <
>Congrats Colts fans I look forward to the next 3-5 years of battle with the Pats and revenge against the Steelers. <

>Go NFL1
Where's the game
In the product description, it is stated that there is a cut down version of the game. The only part of the game I can find is the 12 minutes in the season highlight feature. Correct me if I am wrong, the game is not on this DVD. No halftime show either.
Probably excellent based on past Championship DVD's
The makers of this DVD are keeping the contents pretty close to their vest, probably because they are still compiling it. However, based on last year's DVD in this series specifically and the others in general, I can state what you are likely to get. Plus, one of the commenters to this review has added additional information, but it is all unconfirmed:
<
>
<
>1. The championship game itself, minus breaks and commercials of course.
<
>2. An NFL Films retrospective of the entire Colts season. If you are not familiar with their work, NFL Films not only show key plays and make commentary, they usually get down on the field and give you an idea of the conversations going on between officials, coaches, and the players themselves.
<
>3. Since last year's Championship DVD contained a a 45 minute recap of the AFC Playoff game between the Colts and Steelers, I would imagine this would do the same, especially since this year's AFC Championship was one for the ages. It was actually a much better game than the Superbowl turned out to be in terms of suspense and action on the field itself.
<
>4. You'll probably get the entire Super Bowl half-time show - it was on last year's Championship DVD.
<
>5. There was a "Wires / Sound Tracks" segment that ran about 15 minutes long in last year's package of actual on-the-field conversation. This year's wired segments are reported to have the on-field conversation of Peyton Manning, Marvin Harrison, and a "Best of Patriots/Colts" wired segment.
<
>6. A short piece on Media Day.
<
>7. A behind-the-scenes look at the Super Bowl including all the preparations involved, plus the Cirque du Soleil pre-game show and the post-game show.
<
>8. Last year's package had some material on the history of the Steelers and some material that was a retrospective on Jerome Bettis' career. The corresponding material in this year's package is reported to be two profiles - one on Coach Tony Dungy and the other on linebacker Gary Brackett. Both have compelling stories, and it should be interesting.
<
>9. One commenter mentions two additional pieces that are reportedly included - "Practice with Tony Dungy" and "Just Snap the Ball".

>Sorry to have to guess so much, but nobody's talking about what is on this DVD. I'm just having to do some educated guesses based on previous DVD's in this series. As I get more hard facts on this package, I'll modify my comments if necessary. Why is a Texan taking such an interest in a Super Bowl contest involving the Colts victory over the Bears? It just so happens I'm married to a Packers fan, and with their rivals for the last 85 years being the Bears, the outcome of this year's contest was therefore sweet on many levels.
