Customer Reviews of Murphy's Law
It's okay. Murphy Lee is better than Nelly (& a LOT better than Chingy). This CD is better than Nellyville & Jackpot (not Country Grammar). But Murphy Lee is just, OKAY. His rhymes are WEAK, but his beats make up for his average skills. He doesn't talk about anything of substance, but the beats are hot. This is a fun CD, it reminds me of Free City, which everyone should own. It's nothing grammy worthy, but if you wanna just kick back & listen to some good music, this is a CD for you. But, if you're looking for something amazing & revolutionary, this aint it. But it's a nice CD, considering Murphy Lee's lack of talent. I'd buy it.
Top 5:
5) Don't Blow It (even though it is a rip off of another STLunatics track).
4) Hold Up
3) Regular Guy
2) Cool With It
1) Luv Me Baby
Murphy izzle.. is not illizle.. but close enoughizzy!
Ok. Im gonna review Murphy Lees first solo album. Murphys Law!
Track 1- Be Myself "skit"- No sence listening too it, probably a way to start off the cd. 6.5/10!
Track 2- Dont Blow It "Featuring City Spud"- Crazy beat. I like the way the song starts off. Murphy is actually doing pretty good in the start of the song. But I dont know.. it just dont sound good all the way through. Good Chorus! Very catchy! I give it a 9/10!
Track 3- Hold Up "Featuring Nelly"- Murphy Lee starts off in the first verse nearly the second sentence "ENIE MEANIE MINEY MOE!" lol! Thats funny, Not too bad. Very good beat too the song. Murphy sorta lingers his vocals in the song, like a lazy rapper. He does pretty good. Nelly does the chorus, and its pretty good. Sorta catchy. Doesnt swear much in the song. Overall a good beat, good lyrics. I give it a 9/10!
Track 4- Grandpa GameTight- Murphy Lee actually does a good solo song by himself. He is actin like a pimp in this song. Very good beat in the background. But he needs to be alittle louder. Good song though, but I wouldnt make it a hit single. I give it a 8/10!
Track 5- Luv Me Baby "Featuring Jazze Pha, and Sleeply Brown"- Murphy is sorta good in this song. But dont really like it. Good lyrics, but it just dont connect with me. I aint feelin what he has to say in this song. I give it a 7/10!
Track 6- Cool Wit It "Featuring St.Lunatics"- Good song! I love the beat, and lyrics. The background music sounds like a making out scene in a soap opera! lol! Well good lyrics, but needs to be a better beat. 7/10!
Track 7- This Goes Out "Featuring Nelly, Roscoe, Cardan, Lil Jon, and Lil Wayne"- "F*CK EM ALL DAY!! F*CK ALL NIGHT" Thats mostly what catches the beat too the song. Good song! But should have a little bit more of Murphy Lee in it. 7/10!
Track 8- What Da Hook Gonna Be "Featuring Jermaine Dupri"- "NOW WHAT COMES UP, MUST COME DOWN!"! LOL! Thats funny. This song makes ya wanna dance, or move too the beat. Its very good. Good lyrics. Makes sence. Best song on the album. 10/10!
Track 9- So X-treme "Featuring King Jacob and The Professor" - Too slow, and not good. Sounds like lazy lyrics, sounds like its not a good song at all. Good beat, bad lyrics. 4.3/10!
Track 10- I Better Go "Featuring Avery Storm"- Good song all around. Not too fast, not too slow. Just a good pace to pick up the lyrics. Needs a bit of work on Murphys lyrics. Overall good. 7.7/10!
Track 11- Red Hot Riplets "Featuring St.Lunatics"- Good Song, Starts off with a cool sounding beat. Sounds like a lullaby beat or somethin like that. Nelly begins the song. He makes it heat up, and then it goes too the other members. Very good song. But not the best. 8.5/10!
Track 12- Regulary Guy "Featuring Seven"= Good beat to begin off with. Murphy Lee introduces himself too a girl in the start of the song. Once again he lingers his lyrics. Which I think ruins the start. But then he goes off the lingering lyrics, and goes too the fast pace shiz! Awsome song! 8/10!
Track 13- Gods Don't Chill "Featuring King Jacob, and The Proffessor"- Cool song, no beat at the start, just a little instrumental lingering note. Good song though, sounds like there is a flute in it somewhere. "Instrument" Hmm.. aint sure. Good song, but needs some work. 8/10!
Track 14- Murphy Lee "Featuring Zee"- Not too good of a song. I have heard better. But.. not too shabby. It sounds like he is struggling with a relationship in the song. 6/10!
Track 15- Shake Ya TailFEATHER "Featuring Nelly, And P Diddy"- Very good song! I love it. My second favorite song on the album. Good beat, and makes the lyrics stand out. Nelly does the best in the song. Very good. He does the chorus, and then a verse by himself. AWSOME SONG! A must listen too when you buy this album! 10/10!
Track 16- Same Ol' Dirty "Featuring Toya"= Slow beat, and Murphy sounds like he is talkin about his life, or the life of a rap star. Sounds like he is the same old person. I dont know about this song. Not a good ending too a good Album. I give it a 6/10!
Overall- Murphy Lee's first album as a solo kicks booty! But it needs a bit of work. A Few songs you shouldnt listen too. But you probably will because you bought the album. GOOD CD! Overall Rating 8.4/10!
Murphey Lizzle shows up Fo'Sho
yes that is unpropper english but since he is from Fo'Real I say why not.I could be putting this down as one of the best mainstreams of 2003 stop hating on this album.I like all kinds of Hip Hop and I like this.Murphy Lee is dare I say it a good rapper with some nice mic skills. There are also many summer jams on here that you can turn up the volume on your stereo
