Customer Reviews of Murda Muzik
(If you listen to rap)MOBB DEEP->one of the best groups The album is very good.I wish Havoc would appear on more tracks than prodigy. Not that prodigy is not a good rapper but, Havoc just sounds better and his lyrics are more adaptive to the beat. I cant wait till hav' drops his LP....anyway getting back to murdah muzik...Mobb Deep managed to stay consistent. But they were underrated for a long time. i wish they would re-release some of their older songs...they will be hits without a doubt....Music is certainly worth the money. But if you want to understand mobbdeep you have to hear their previous 2 albums.."The infamous" and "Hell on Earth" to really feel their flavour...then only youll understand the third album...but if youve never heard mobb deep you can still buy this album just because its one of the years best....but if you want your moneys worth ..buy the "The Infamous " ......If you dont like "The Infamous"..ill pay you the cost of the cd myself. Trust me thats one of the best albums ever. And another thing i heard that mobbd deep is going mainstream ...If Mobb deep is reading this or anyone in contact with them ...please let them know that the only reason they have so many fans is because theyre not mainstream. If you see mobb deep with puffdaddy. kick puffy in the nuts. thanks fellas get the LP
One of the best rap albums ever
Mobb Deep are the kings of Q.B and this album shows just that. Murda Muzik isn't Infamous but it's probably my second best Mobb album after that. 'Quiet Storm' and the remix featuring Lil' Kim is one of the best rap songs I've heard in a while. That is definately the top song on the album. But other from that there are some slamming cuts like 'It's Mine' with Nas, 'Where Ya Heart At', and 'I'm Going Out' with Lil' Cease. Prodigy&Havoc reigned in their own apocalyptic and degenerate views of ghetto life, which they show with their untouchable musical and sometimes melancholic tunes. They show their lyrical prowess in street anthems like the thugged out 'The Realest' with Kool G. Rap, and 'Spread Love'. This is a must-buy album and in my opinion the top rap album of the year. Every hardcore gangsta rap fan shouldn't be without this.
Staying true to their same formula
Haven't we heard this album before? There's really only so many ways that you can say that you came from the hood, you grew up strapped with guns, you sold drugs, yadda yadda yadda. The Mobb blew up on The Infamous album, (the only good one in my opinion) because they set the mood and stage and talked about their life. Then they rehashed it in Hell on Earth. Then they rehashed it again here. Then they rehashed it again on Infamy. Thug rap has served it's time. I was never a big fan of straight thug rap, but when it was done right, I noticed. The Infamous album for example. Tracks like Thug Muzik, and Murda Muzik showcase their same lyrics. There's just no stand-out tracks on here. (With the exception of Quiet Storm, It's Mine, and Spread Love) We know you can talk about the streets. It's been established time and time again. Havoc is a decent producer, but how many times can you use the same drum loop over and over again? The Mobb needs to expand their audience, lyrics and production wise. And when I say expand, I don't mean "sell out" or "go pop". Look at Nas. Always expanding, always innovating. Look at Kanye West, total innovation. I know the Mobb can do better than this. There are many many other topics that can be addressed. Maybe Amerikaz Nightmare will go in that direction.
