Customer Reviews of Morrissey - Who Put the M in Manchester
Review from the Synthesis Slayer fanatics have nothing on Morrissey's faithful in terms of freakish devotion. Filmed on May 22nd, 2004 (Morrissey's birthday) at the Evening News Arena, this concert movie is well shot, presenting the performance in an intimate light. Morrissey, is spot on, showering the audience with his moonlit croon and dazzling them with his tight-jawed delivery, mile-high pompadour and peculiar hand gestures. As remarkable as the singer and his band perform, Who Put the "M" in Manchester? may be more noteworthy for the tenacity of the concert's attendees, who, even during the more tender numbers, hurl themselves over barriers and through burly guards toward the stage for the off-chance they might clasp hands with Moz. <

Don't Dare Miss the Concert Finale
This is my very first review but I just had to mention that the last song of the concert, "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out", may well be the single greatest performance of a song ever committed to film. Not only is the song itself wonderful but the camerawork and the audience devotion to Morrissey is remarkable. However, most noteworthy is the way the band makes their exit, member by member, taking the song down instrument by instrument until all thats left are the drums and synthesizer and then, the synth alone. Utterly compelling.
Morrissey - A singer/songwriter like no other...Period.
This DVD re-establishes and proves that Morrissey is the world-class talent we've all known him to be. His voice is in great form, and the production on this wonderful live set is first rate. I highly recommend for any Smiths/Morrissey fan.
