Quality Assurance: The Morel Difference
Morel's peerless quality control is a key selling point. Every component is built, tested, and inspected in Morel's factory in Israel. Except for the production of the subwoofer housing, which is outsourced, Morel is directly responsible for everything.

The IS-9A a slim designed active powered subwoofer that can complement any speaker set up, though it's specifically designed to complement Morel's SoundSpot satellite speakers. The compact unit measures 23.5 by 15.77 by 8.75 inches (W x H x D) -- a nice size for otherwise cramped living rooms -- and is built with a white isobaric and port-loading reflex cabinet. The IS-9A was designed to supplement the SoundSpot satellite speakers in the low bass frequency range, creating an acoustically homogeneous home cinema or hi-fi system. The unit employs two nine-inch woofers in an extremely flat-profile enclosure. The woofer's rear-vented double magnet system and aluminum Hexatech coil allow for effortless deep bass power.

The IS-9A uses the tandem dynamo acoustics design, which allows perfect acoustical loading of the enclosure and provides strong air circulation for high power-handling capabilities. The amplifier features an automatic on/off switch, volume control, phase control, and crossover point control that allow seamless system integration. The IS-9A also has high- and low-level inputs/outputs that allow for any of the common configuration options. While the SoundSub IS-9A is designed to complement the Morel Applause, Stream, or Nova speaker systems, it will enhance any home theater system with well controlled, deep bass.

Note: New Morel speakers and components require 40 hours of "break-in" time before you'll achieve optimal performance. The response of any speaker will depend on how free the woofer cones are to move, and since new speaker components are bound to have stiff suspensions, a "loosening up" period should be allowed before passing final judgement on the system's performance.
