Customer Reviews of Mini Co-Sleeper - Blue Dot
Warning to parents who purchase this item . . . For the most part we have utilized and enjoyed the convenience of the Co-Sleeper. However, as a new mother I feel obligated to share the unfortunate experience we had with our newborn. At 8 weeks Samuel was still sleeping in the Co-Sleeper. We never usually let Sam "cry-it-out" but my husband was gone and I was exhausted after an hour of rocking, bouncing, etc. So I made sure he was fed, changed and safe in his sleeper. He cried for 20 minutes and then stopped. A friend was over and after 10 minutes he was at it again. This time we went to him rocked him and he was out for the night. At his 2am feeding I picked him up to discover blood between his toes and to my horror blood in his sleep sack. Our stomachs dropped when we looked inside his Co-Sleeper to find the side which pulls up to the bed covered in blood. As he was crying earlier he had kicked the fabric covering the buckles down and tore the skin on his little pinky toe. It was dark in our room so we didn't notice the blood on the sleeper or his PJ's. We felt so sick and sad that this had happened. From then on we never let him cry in his sleeper and covered the side with a blanket to cover the buckles. I gave 3 stars because other than this incident it has been very convenient for nursing and naps. Just be careful if you leave your baby in there and he/she likes to kick when upset.
Buy the original co sleeper !
I have the mini co sleeper and my baby just turned 2 months. I was hoping to keep her in it for 5 months because i live in a small one bedroom apartment, but she has out grown it. She is only 10 lbs but is very active, so she will turn her self sideways in it and it is not wide enough for that, so her head is pressed against the side and legs are all crooked. She already wakes me every 2 1/2 hrs to nurse, and now i wake up more because she gets stuck. Also i couldn't attach it to my bed because my cat thought it was her new bed. I recommend the original size for a little more money. I did think the mattress was too thin and hard as well.
Love it! [Idea for a sheet alternative, too!]
I'm expecting my second child and I knew that I wanted a co-sleeper this time around. My first slept in bed with us, but I always wished I had a place to put him where I could still touch him, but feel more comfortable streching out. This is going to be our answer!

>I decided to go with the mini because I didn't want to have to climb around the full size co-sleeper to get in and out of bed. Plus, it will travel well. I have found it to be much easier to set up and take down than our pack and play and it feels sturdier to me. The matress seems softer than our pack and play, too.

>One of the complaints I've heard is that the sheets for this are expensive ($14/ea) and hard to find. I completely agree, so we're going to use pillow cases! You can use either standard or king cases...they fit right over the matress. The only downside to using pillow cases is that you cannot velcro the matress to the frame like you're supposed to, but to me, the matress fits so snugly in the bed, I don't see it as a problem.
