Customer Reviews of Microsoft Streets and Trips 2005 [Old Version]
Horrible Interface - Better off with Delorme Street Atlas What is it with Microsoft and their interfaces - do they always have to cram all the crap they can into an interface so that it becomes unuseable. Especially in a GPS software you want minimal things interfering with what it is supposed to do best. Just show me the route and get out of the way! No - MSSST keeps trying to give every piece of infromation on the window - there is no way to close off all the extraneous information. Entering a new address requires two hands!! No direct way to automatically recalculate from the current GPS location. <

>Delorme Street Atlas has a better interface but still I felt the best interface was with the Mac Version of Street Atlas 2001 - after which Delorme discontinued it. However on the Windows side - dont even bother with this MS crap.
Waste of Money
Don't waste your money buying this product. You are better off using the free maps online.
Neeto, but when the maps are really old, not good.
I was fortunate to have my employer reimburse me for the outlay of $, and can't complain too loudly as if I didn't get it "free". Beyond the really cool features this program has, the old map data can really frustrate you. I rely (too much?) on this product to get me to specific addresses all over my territory (the 5th largest state in the US, and then some) and has led me down dead end roads, and couldn't find some streets that have been established, and are on other maps for more than 5 or 6 years. Wish the map portion was update-able as the "highway construction updates" (which don't usually help like a entire MAP update would) If you have the cash, buy a real GPS mapping software/device package that updates it's maps (Garmin, etc)
