Ideal for home users or small offices, the Maxtor Shared Storage Drive lets you share 300 GB of photos, music, and other files between multiple PCs on the same network. Automatic configuration detects when you've plugged the drive into your router using the supplied Ethernet cable, and allows you to quickly integrate the drive into your TCP/IP network. Setup is made simple with the Quick Start CD, and the easy-to-use web browser helps you assign privacy levels for shared folders.

Maxtor's Drag and Sort feature automatically sorts files placed in the drive folder by type, and creates separate folders for music, photos, video, or other data files, which makes finding and accessing files easy. The drive features two USB 2.0 ports so you can attach a USB printer or another external hard drive.

The sleek, silver external drive will look right at home on your desktop, and comes with with a cradle that lets you position the drive vertically to minimize its footprint.
