Customer Reviews of March Madness 2001
College B-ball If you are a serious college hoops fan, then this is the game for you. Its not the best basketball game on the market(not even close), but if you want college bball, then this is the game to get. The game is a little unrealistic, with too many "touch" fouls and missed dunks and stuff, but it has a great college atmosphere and great dynasty mode. Its lots of fun taking over a bad team and taking them to the big time. If you aren't a HUGE college fan, then you should probably stick with nba live 2001, but if you gotta have college ball, then this is where it's at.
Great Game
For those that like collegiate sports games (like me!) EA Sports has finally produced a quality basketball title. Previous versions of this title were awful, but March Madness 2001 fixes all those flaws.
To start off with, this game is loaded with options. Exhibition, Dynasty, Tournament, and Women's Sweet 16 are modes available for your gaming pleasure. You can also play a tournament with some of the greatest teams of all time. Here are a few other items that make this game great:
1. Fully customizable gameplay: using the sliding meter, modify all the aspects of gameplay (from speed to shot difficulty to steal ability) to suit your tastes. 2. You can create players and, depending on their playing time during the season, their abilities will increase a lot or a little each season. 3. The new Coach K coaching mode (where you start out at a small school and work your way up the coaching ladder depending on your success) is really cool and a nice addition to the game. 4. The frame rates have been greatly improved and increase the playability of the game immensely (last year it was so slow).
Some things I would like to see improved before next year's version is the following: 1. Improving stat tracking (although your stats are tracked all season they're not ranked like the stats are in NCAA Football 2001). It would be nice to see where you rank against the other teams in the nation. 2. Improving the recruiting option (NCAA Football 2001 is so comprehensive it would be nice to have a little more flexibility with this area of the game).
M&M 2001
This an overall great game dynasty is cool there is only a few flaws in this game such as %50% of the time you shoot the shot is blocked and you miss about 3-10 dunks but you can customize most of this stuff to the way you like it.
