Money Well Spent I was hesitant about the price of this car seat (2 to 3 times more than most others), but safety is priceless. I went to the Babys R Us store because I really needed to see this car seat and try to understand what made it better than the rest. Instantly when I saw and felt the 5 point harness system I knew this was the car seat I wanted. I am very picky about keeping the straps straight on the other car seat and it was a continuous process everytime the child was buckled in. We have had the Britax over 8 months and the straps still look as straight as the day we bought it and are virtually impossible to tangle as other car seats do naturally. We will be needing another carseat in about 7 months and we will be buying another Britax!
Best Car Seat EVER
I have used TONS of car seats, and this is by far THE BEST ONE. It is 100% worth the money. The non-twist straps are great, it's super easy to adjust, and really comfortable. Plus, it keeps the child in a 5 point harness until 65 pounds which is MUCH safer than putting them in a belt positioning booster seat at 40 pounds (almost every other seat can only be harnessed up to 40 lbs).
Britax also tests better than ANY other brand of car seat. Every other brand does their crash tests at only 35 mph and only on a head on collision. Britax tests their seats at 75 mph in many different scenarios, including multiple roll-overs.
Ask any car seat technician which seat is top of line in safety, and they will tell you Britax.
I love this seat
My husband was totally skeptical at first due to price - but we read so many online reviews and heard such raves about Britax that we decided to take the plunge. There is nothing we don't love about this seat - especially the bicycle helmet foam installed in the seat for crash protection that MOST OTHER SEATS don't have.
If you go to the BRU store they won't tell you this, or that it is any better than the other seats on the market, but if you are like us, your child is number one and you will only settle for the best. And this is the best. Thank goodness we haven't had the opportunity to test it out yet, but I feel confident that our daughter is in such a safe seat that she would probably outlive us if it came down to it!
If you need to scrimp and save, I totally understand, but this is the ONE place where you can - and must - splurge.
