Customer Reviews of Malawi - Growth Chart
VERY CUTE!! This is a very cute item. I placed our son's picture and he'll walk over and point at it from time to time. It's adorable. My husband used special nails or hangers for these, so that it would stay secure.
I bet the other reviewers never tried to hang it up!
Yes, it's very cute yadda yadda yadda.

>My big complaint about this growth chart is that it's surprisingly difficult to hang on the wall so that it's level

>It doesn't come with any instructions, but still at first you would think it should be as easy as hanging up a picture, right? Wrong! First of all, there are two hangers on the back, so you have to put up two nails/screws exactly 2.5" apart and at exactly the same height or else it will be tilted. Also there's no simple way to get it at exactly the right height the first time ... you have to make a guess, drill two holes in the wall, put two anchors (not included) into the holes, screw in two mounting screws (not included), hanging it on the screws, and then measure from the floor to see how far off it is. Then you start all over with a second set of holes and PRAY that it comes out perfectly level. Oh, you'll need a bubble level for this as well.

>If you're a professional carpenter, you may be able to get it exactly right on the first try by subtracting the height at the bottom of the hanger from the height of the top of the chart, then adjusting the height of your anchor so that the top of the screw diameter matches the required height for the bottom of the hanger, but as a non-professional I did all this and still came up a half inch off. On the second attempt, the growth chart was visibly tilted so I ended up unscrewing one of the hangers on the back of the growth chart and lowering it by 1/16th of an inch (which required drilling two tiny new holes and moving two tiny screws). Finally it's up, it's level and it's within 1/4" of the correct height, but it sure wasn't easy!

>What the manufacturer SHOULD have done was provide some kind of adjustment for the hangers on the back so that the height and level can be adjusted once you mount it!
Very cute
I highly recommend this chart for a boy or girl's room. It's better than I expected. Very cute and good quality for a very reasonable price!
