Customer Reviews of Madison Lifetime Crib - White
An all around great experience so far! My husband and I bought this crib a few weeks ago from a Babies R Us store and had super fast delivery and great assistance when picking it up. We got home and dreaded putting it together but it took us all of 20 minutes. And it has nothing to do with the quality, because it is so sturdy! Rather than a bunch of small pieces to put together, it has large solid pieces of wood that make it so user friendly. Of course we haven't used it with a baby yet but some other reviews are not a concern. For instance, I have found that a bumper can be used with the addition of some stick on velcro to the solid back. With such a beautiful piece, it just takes a little creativity. And I definfitely think this crib is worth the money! It is actually so much cheaper than other companies, but with great craftmanship, high quality wood and a beautiful design. And how can spending $369 be too much when it'll last through years of developmental needs?
Nightmare
I purchased this crib because it was gorgeous. However, it has been nothing but a nightmare. Because of it's solid back, bumpers don't fit. I have a VERY active little girl and she is constantly getting bruises from hitting her head on the slats. No mobiles (at least none that I could find) fit safely. No teething guards fit. There is no sliding rail. It's cute and adorable, but sooo not functional. We just lowered the mattress, as she is pulling up to standing now, and for some reason the mattress isn't fitting as snug. It's been pain in the butt after pain in the butt. I HATE THIS THING. It's cute if it's a nursery on TV or in movies - but if you're actually going to PUT a child in this thing - BEWARE.
Great crib, but very poor delivery service
The crib itself is very nice and looks great. I thought it was a bit overpriced, but I'll be up front and admit my wife and I are pretty cheap. Personally, I think the price must include the manufacturer's cost for replacing any parts that arrive in damaged condition.

>The reason I give only two stars is due to the way the order was mishandled.

>Something to keep in mind when ordering this: The delivery could not have been handled more poorly. This might vary from one destination to another depending on who handles the local delivery.

>The freight carrier (Eagle in my case) called to schedule a delivery date, during which I was instructed to wait at home for the entire day. On the scheduled date, by 5pm I had not heard anything, much less received a crib. Repeated phone calls to Eagle over the next few days were always handled by someone who was not in a position to resolve anything (and more often than not, could not find any info about the order). It didn't seem to faze Eagle (nor Amazon's customer service) in the least that I was forced to stay home from work for an entire day, ultimately for no reason.

>Eagle finally put me in touch with the local delivery broker, who had received five truckloads worth of deliveries at once from Eagle. They took the better part of a week to find my order (and grew increasingly rude each time I called for an update).

>When they finally delivered our crib, the front panel was scratched, and the back panel was cracked. I called the manufacturer, and they sent a new back panel within a week and a new front in three weeks (though it was supposed to take two). Nice service on their part, but again, I wonder if a lot of cribs end up damaged, and if the cost of replacement drives up the price.
