Sometimes a crib is more than just a crib. This polished cherry wood bed is classic enough to be passed to future generations, and will make Baby’s dreams sweeter in the meantime. It’s also large enough to be used as a day bed as your child gets bigger; instructions for this conversion are included, and it’s fairly simple. Regardless of the bed’s comfort and impressive presence in a room, however, parents should still consider that the railings are not adjustable. Also, the stately headboard isn’t good for hanging items like toys, monitors or mobiles, and it blocks the view unless the bed is arranged to face the doorway (which is good feng shui anyway, right?). The railings are fine for hanging items, however, and the height adjustment feature offsets the need to lean over the railings to change or pick Baby up. --Diane Beall
