Customer Reviews of Mad About You - The Complete Second Season
Not bad, but not perfect either The Mad About You: Season Two disc is out and while they have made some improvements over the first season, there are still some problems.
The Season Two set comes on three discs with 8 or so episodes per disc. Some claim that this results in improved picture quality, but I can't claim to notice this for myself.
Of the two sets that have been released, this is my favorite by far. Some of the series classic episodes are in this set, like the episode where Jamie's sister loses Murray in the park and comes back with a dog that look like him.
The discs still don't have chapter stops in the individual episodes like other televsion series that have been released on DVD. This is an annoying oversight that makes watching the series more frustrating. The audio quality is good, but this set will not stress out your sound system by any means.
In closing, if you are fan of Mad About You then you should pick this set up. There are some major flaws, but otherwise it is a good buy.
Pro's:
The release of this series on DVD
Classic episodes, like "Paul is Dead" and "The Last Scampi"
Split up on three discs
Improved picture quality, maybe...
Con's:
Still no chapter stops
Still no useful or interesting extras
Equipment Used:
Sony Playstation 2
Phillips 21" television
WOW!! Expecting the 3rd!!!
1. If you are a fan and bought the 1st season, you will see this is a little better because is a 3 DVD set with a better quality.
2. You are not receiving more, once again, of what you can expect: the aprox. 25 episodes and nothing more than 2 commercials: the trailer of Maid in Manhattan (that bad movie with J.Lo.) and the promotion of other commedies avaliable in DVD. Still NO information, or interviwes or behind the scenes, or a docummentary about the series!
3. They did not add the Spanish subtitles, so -if you don't want to lose anything of the original fun- watch it in English.. in Spanish you miss a lot!!!
4. I think this season was better than the first one!!
5. Third season is something I will buy and recommend for sure! But I HOPE they will give us information and subtitles in other languages!!
What about Pedro??
It has been over a year since the release of the second season. Please say it ain't so. Television shows should only be released on Dvd if there is some sort of committment from the vendor to release all seasons. I fear this may have become a trend to release the first season then leave us dangling. I would like as many others to collect the entire group of seasons without becoming part of a "test group"
