"The Head" -- A brilliant sci-fi series Weird, funny, inventive -- these qualities deservedly rank this short-lived sci-fi series alongside "Beavis and Butthead," "Daria," and other groundbreaking MTV cartoons.
The cast is brilliant. Jason Candler portrays the main character, Jim, whose head is invaded, and mostrously enlarged, by the evil alien "Roy." Candler conveys the right dose of angst as he wrestles with his predicament. Patricia Bibby, who portrays his cute girlfriend, Madelyn, gives freshness and spark to Madelyn as she accompanies Jim on his adventures and cooly attempts to help rescue him (and the world!) from the invaders.
The creator and writer of the "The Head," Eric Fogel, ended up having more popular success with "Celebrity Deathmatch," but it was the sci-fi weirdness of "The Head" that started it all.
Get this wonderful series--and demand it on DVD!
This is a great item
This video collects some of the episodes from the first season of Eric Fogle's short lived animated series which aired on MTV in the mid-1990's. Its the story of a guy named Jim who becomes the living host for an alien being named Roy. The adventures they experience are a lot of fun, and the series makes some great references to social acceptance. I am very glad it was released on video and hope the 2nd season's episode's will also become available. If any of you are interested there was a cartoon book based on the series which came out after it ended, titled "The Head: The Lost Episode", written by Fogle. Its pretty funny and worth a look, though I believe its out of print and hard to find.
The Best Cartoon
this is the best cartoon i have ever watched. its animation was ahead of its time. the dialogue works very well with the characters supplied. the story lines were social commentary on acceptence. it went off the air a few years ago, but it is still in my heart. i have searched high and low for this video. my suggestion is to order this now before it goes out of stock.
