Plus, because the thermometer is waterproof, there’s no worry if it’s accidentally dropped in a sink full of water or a pan of turkey drippings. After being inserted at least 1 inch into the food, the 4-3/4-inch stainless-steel probe accurately displays the temperature in just 8 seconds. One button changes the LCD display from Fahrenheit to Celsius, while another turns the device on and off. In order to save battery life, the thermometer automatically shuts off after 10 minutes if no change in temperature has occurred.
