Existentialism Meets Dayglo Modern Pop Movement "Love of Wisdom," the debut CD from Aardvark Spleen is one of the most innovative albums of the decade. Casually blending jazz, pop, and blues with a healthy dose of the Allman Brothers and dual personality disorder, "Dr. Zeke" has truly created an original and helped us into the new millenium. A little rough around the edges, this album is still indicative of great things in the future for the aptly named Aardvark Spleen. Lyrically provocative and musically toe-tapping, "Love of Wisdom" makes the listener want to play it over and over again to ensure true understanding and appreciation. From the knee-slapping "Demonic Granny" to the thought provoking "Earthman," Dr. Zeke will take you on a journey rarely experienced outside the airwaves of Doctor Demento. All of the songs seem to focus on various aspects of philosophy, which, thanks to the solid melodies can still attract even the most hard-core anti-Scoratic. Thumbs up for Aardvark Spleen and lets hope to hear more from this ingenious band in the future!
