Customer Reviews of Los Hombres Malo (+4 Bonus Tracks) (Rema
Sound Quality Off, And Billy Jones Gone, But Still Great LOS HOMBRES MALO is another great Outlaws album. Granted, Billy Jones was gone by the time this was recorded, and the sound quality is a bit scratchy, but that doesn't undermine the fact that the singing and guitar playing of Hughie Thomasson and Freddie Salem is terrific and the songs are strong, even if some were written by outside writers. If you loved BEST OF: GREEN GRASS AND HIGH TIDES, BRING IT BACK ALIVE, OUTLAWS, HURRY SUNDOWN, LADY IN WAITING, PLATINUM & GOLD COLLECTION, THE ENCORE COLLECTION, DIABLO CANYON, HITTIN' THE ROAD LIVE, and SO LOW, you'll want LOS HOMBRES MALO.
Los Hombres Malo
Unfortunately, Los Hombres follows in the same footsteps as the Playin to Win and In The Eye Of The Storm CD releases from Magic records. It's sound quality is very poor. In fact, this could possibly be the poorest sound quality I have ever heard on a CD. The four bonus tracks are titled radio remixes and do resemble a cleaner mix. However, the original 9 tracks ar very scratchy sounding and my guess is that an album was used as the source for the recording. Outlaw fans, if you are looking for the same quality of sound as the Outlaws, Lady In Waiting, and Hurry Sundown titles, forget it. This is not even close. If you plan on playng this out of a cheap boom box, then you probably won't notice the difference. Hopefully, Arista records will someday give Los Hombres Malo the proper release it deserves from the original master tapes.
