Customer Reviews of Limited Edition Green Xbox Video Game System with Halo
The Age of XBOX My title says enough. I believe that this year, no other console can compete with what the Xbox has to offer. Xbox finally took over PS2 in sales in the months of March, April, and May. The game lineup for Xbox is incredible, as I believe it to be a bit ironic how individuals claim the Xbox has not exclusive titles yet the 'box seems to get more and more everytime you look. To avoid being repetitve, some new games to check out are The Chronicles of Riddick : Escape from Butcher Bay, Full Spectrum Warrior, Ninja Gaiden, Tom Clancys Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow, and later this year, the Xbox will see the arrival of the blockbuster RPG Fable, which is supposed to revolutionize the genre. MechAssault 2 and Halo 2 are both arriving later this year as well and both will be Xbox Live compatible. Halo 2 may be reason enough to purchase the box. If you want some extras get Xbox Live, a DVD kit and some extra contollers for LAN and multiplayer battles. Also, Electronic Arts has decided to bring all of its games online with the Xbox. With EA's decision, I also think that the Xbox is the only console that does sports games right. Xbox sports games will irrefutably look best on the 'box and EA's games will be online this year. Buy this version of the Xbox just cause its green. Its cool. BTW, that 8 gigabytes on the Xbox hard drive can hold a lot more than people think. Anyway, I highly recommend the Xbox. As far as FPS, multiplayer, and sports games go, there is no other choice except XBOX.
Excellent System, but not without its flaws
The Xbox is an excellent system for any gamer. The graphics are amazing, the sounds is killer and {most} of the games are excellent. Unfortunately, just like the PS2 and Gamecube, the Xbox is not without its faults.
Good:
Amazingly detailed graphics
Capable of incredible sound effects
Can play CDs and DVDs (not without a remote though)
4 Controller Ports
Good variety of Games
Well Supported by 3rd party developers
Some excellent exclusive games (Halo, Project Gotham 2, Halo 2)
150 dollar price point is 30 dollars less than PS2 (but still 50 dollars more than Gamecube)
Best Online Service (Xbox Live!)
The Bad
System weighs a lot-don't expecting anything you can bring on vacation
System is ugly-basically a big, clunky box
Lack of RPGS (save Knights of the Old Republic)
Lack of quirky (strange Japanese/Anime/just plain weird) games such as Mister Mosquito and Animal Crossing.
Lack of "kiddie" games- Xbox is geared toward the 15+ crowd
EA Sports games are not online compatible (the PS2 versions are though)
Overall the Xbox is an excellent system choice for gamers who love action/shooter/online games. The Xbox excels in these areas;in fact it blows the competition out of the water. But, due to the lack of games in certain genres, I have to knock the score down a star. That being said, if you are looking for a graphics powerhouse that is home to the best online games (Mech Assault, Rainbow Six, Splinter Cell Pandora's Tommorow) and the best action games (Halo, Halo 2, Brute Force, Deus Ex 2), then you should purchase an Xbox as soon as possible.
Note: This special edition Xbox is worth the money. It will probably become a rare collector's item. It is also includes the best game on the Xbox, Halo. And the whole package costs only 20 dollars more than the regular Xbox (which comes with no game). Pick one of these green Xboxes up while you can!
