Customer Reviews of Life Extension Magazine
CUTTING EDGE INFO I have been reading Life Extension Magazine, published by Life Extension Foundation, for over seven years. It is still the best source of cutting edge information on longevity, food and natural hormone supplementation and natural protocols for preventing and treating disease.
This magazine first introduced me to the benefits of natural hormones like DHEA, Pregnenolone and Melatonin plus nutritional supplements such as N-Acetyl-Cysteine (NAC), Alpha Lipoic Acid, SAMe and DMAE, Soy Extracts and many others.
In addition, I first learnt about Phytochemicals (those substances in plants that provide the color, including flavonoids, flavonols, proanthocyandins, carotenes, terpenes and thiols) and their health benefits on these pages. It is the best source of information on all of the anti-oxidants.
The magazine often runs interviews with longevity experts and researchers and regularly carries articles investigating the side-effects of allopathic medicines. All articles are backed by references from clinical trials and laboratory research.
The articles are always well written and researched and the news section is always very up to date with the latest research findings. In short, if you're determined to lead a quality life, remain in your prime and retain a young biological age (as opposed to chronological age), Life Extension is the best magazine by far.
If I have a criticism, it is perhaps that Life Extension Magazine tends to concentrate on natural substances like vitamins, minerals, trace elements, amino acids, herbs and natural hormones rather than anti-ageing drugs like Eldepryl (Deprenyl), Cimetidine, Vinpocetine and good old Aspirin, although once again, I first read about these medicines on these pages.
Each issue contains Reports, News, Questions and Answers sections and valuable Medical Abstracts, where one can find the very latest research results on various natural substances and their efficacy in treating various ailments.
For those interested in leading a quality life, effective supplementation and longevity, I would also like to recommend the following books: Renewal by Dr. Timothy J. Smith, The Superhormone Promise by Carol Colman and William Regelson, Stopping the Clock by Dr. Ronald Klatz and the work of Dr. Ray Sahelian, a leading supplement researcher.
