Ciofi deserves to be better known I am a great fan of Patrizia Ciofi's wonderful voice - I would not want to hide this. I already have recordings of live performances in bel canto repertoire - Sonnambula (wonderful!) and the french version Lucie di Lammermor (very good). I took a risk in ordering this Italian recording, and was not disappointed. The repertoire includes Mozart, Schubert, Schumann, Bernstein and Gershwin. The recorded sound is not the best and the accompanist is not good. However I have enjoyed this recording very much indeed, play it often and recommend it to others. I do wish that the major recording companies will pay attention to this artist and capture her now, while her voice is at its captivating best. Unfortunately this disc gives no biographical detail, and seems to include two identical recordings of Ich Grolle Nicht - for no apparent rreason. Strange!
